text message ringtones
 

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could recommend or possible create a program that does individual sms ringtones for contacts AND is able to back them up (either thru the program or easily by a registry export) I have used programs that allow you to set each contact to have a different ringtone for an SMS alert but none of them allow you to save/back them up. I constatntly find myself doing a hard reset and would love to have this type of program/feature....thank you for any help you might be able to give.

I don't know any programs out there, sorry... But why do you perform numerous hard resets? And what type of phone do you have?

if you find a program that sets them, you can do a backup of your phone using SPB Backup and it will restore all the ringtones

I have the Sprint Touch Pro. Usually because im trying a new custom rom or if i have issues with the phone i reflash it back to Stock then take it in then reflash back. I use SASHAMI to setup my phone the way i like it execept for the custom ringtones for text messages.


So your saying that if i use SPB then it will restore the contacts and the custom SMS ringtones? Will it just backup the rintones, the contacts or the whole phone? Im trying not to backup the whole phone since i at times go from one Rom to another...Thanks for your responses

You DO NOT want to use SPB to restore your registry (or anything but contacts/texts/etc,) when you change ROMs.

I have the same issue as you, and I haven't found a good solution.

Even more annoying, is I use Exchange to manage my contacts, and that means I lose my ringtone settings EVERY time I flash. I have a custom ringtone for every contact. I flash about 10 times a month, and it sucks.

I've used SPB after a ROM flash. The trick is to remember that SPB has the ROM Upgrade Mode, and to select that when you restore after an upgrade

Ah yes, well as long as it's not restoring your registry or system files, you should be fine.

what program are you guys using for the ring tones? i loved that feature on my old LG 8100 but havent had a phone since then that would do it. i hate having a custom ring tone for a person then just having a standard ringer for everyone when it comes to the text.

the only program that comes to mind is contacts pro but i am not sure if u can back them up
