What software do you use to control your Desktop sound system (WMP/Itunes)?

Hey guys,

Just wondering what software you guys are using to control your desktop sound system...After visiting a friend who uses his Iphone to control his desktop sound system, I figured some of you guys have probably come up with a great solution for Winmo users. I just want to be able to control volume, skip/next track, pause/play, on/off etc. Anything out there that works well and has a decent Gui?

Thanks in advance!

So far, from researching online, I've seen that some people use Netremote Music or Zerama. I've never seen anyone use these programs before...anyone have something installed on their TP that they think works well? It would be awesome to control my home stereo system through my TP while being in the backyard!

There's a gadget for Vista that allows WinMo phones to control WMP and Media Center over a BT connection. It works pretty well from what I've experienced.

Here's the SideShow client for WM6 mobile:

Then go to the gallery and download the Media Center gadget.

That looks awesome but unfortunately wont work for me as im still on Windows XP. Anyone got any XP advice? Or any experience with NetRemote Music?? There's gotta be someone on here who uses the TP to control music on the desktop...

+1 for the Vista Sideshow gadget.

I've played with 4 or 5 other media control programs and none of them were very good. I certainly never came across one that was worth paying for. Most have unnecessarily convoluted control setups, are difficult and slow to use, and used ugly list based interfaces. The sideshow gadget is simple and intuitive to use, requires little setup, and adds a little visual interest (album art, etc.).

I use a remote desktop connection if I want to find and/or play anything that isn't already stored locally (searching and downloading from Rhapsody mostly). Works pretty well on the Pro's VGA display, and things are snappy on the WLAN.
