USB bug?

I had my phone off, connected it via usb, then decided to start it up without disconnecting it. When it started up I found that it didn't want to show up as a drive in windows even after I disconnected it and reconnected it. It would still charge, but I simply wouldn't get any popups about my connection.

Anyone else confirm this? I mean, it's not hard to simply unplug it before starting the phone, but still, you'd think after reconnecting it, it would act normal...

Start > Settings > Connections tab > USB to PC > make sure "Ask about connection type when I connect" is checked.

Yes it is. It works properly when I start the phone up disconnected via usb.

It's just an oddity with the phone I guess; If you start it up connected to your computer you can't transfer files.

Every now and then, the phone just won't connect to the PC. You hear the tell tale sounds of a USB device connecting but yet the phone won't show up in My Computer or Activesync. I don't know the reason but I just usually pull the USB off, wait a few seconds then plug back in and that usually resolves the problem.

Its normal... I usually disconnect for a sec just so it will not cause that...

Yeah, I just got that... could access the drive via commandline, could see it in the disk management control panel, but didn't show up in explorer. oh well. :/

Well at least now we know. If anyone ever has the problem just tell them to disconnect the usb cable and do a soft reset.
