No Sound?
 

Just experienced this today. But I thought I would document the trouble and see if anyone else is having the same issue. Using a Sprint Touch Pro converted over to Verizon per the instructions here.

Sound was working fine this morning, and through the afternoon. Calls rang, etc.

Around 6:15p, a call came in, but no ring from the phone. It simply vibrated. And then vibrated again when the VM came in.

So I run a test from the house line, calling the phone. It vibrates, and rings in the BT headset, but no other sounds (even in games) work. Set the phone to vibrate and silent then back to full volume and still nothing. Turned off the headset, still no sound.

Soft reset the phone, and tada - sound is back.

I recently installed new versions of the following: ceTwit, WKTask, and Sprite Backup. I also installed Manila Control (giving me two today screens).

I just had this happen. I'm not sure if this caused it or not but I was using the phones audio out in the car to listen to some music. I used to use my Mogul like that all the time but this was the first time with the Touch Pro. I came back inside and noticed I had a text message. I didnt recall hearing the alert so I sent myself a test sms. visual alert on screen but no sound. I tried to play a song and nothing. I soft reset the phone and audio is back again.

Seems very coincidental that I've never had this problem and then when I use the audio out for the first time I experience it.

I have had this happen once on my TP and used to happen on my mogul. I found that usually going to settings>sounds and clicking play for the sound that isnt working restores it. Saves a little time instead of the soft reset.

This actually affects the whole phone not just certain sounds. I cannot get any sound to play other than making a call.

EDIT

Ok... now since this happened the first time I can reproduce this behavior. If I send myself a test SMS I hear the alert. If I then plug the power adapter in the phone and charge it with the screen still on, I still hear the alert. As soon as the screen is powered off (still charging) and I send a test SMS I see the lights around the directional pad blinking, but get no audible alert. Then if I turn the screen on I cannot hear any sound at all. MP3's, alerts, ringers etc.
