Texting Issues When I Slide The Keyboard
When I go to click reply on a text message and quickly open my phone to type it kicks me back to a previous screen and I have to close out apps or click on the task manager to get back to my text message. I was wondering if anyone has a solution or is having this problem?

Re: Texting Issues When I Slide The Keyboard
I think it's a common problem. What I usually do is hit reply in portrait mode and wait until I see the blinking insert cursor in the message screen before flipping to landscape and opening the keyboard.

Re: Texting Issues When I Slide The Keyboard
It's a pretty common software bug, I believe... By any chance... Have you installed any programs, .CAB's, or made any registry edits before the problem started occuring?

Re: Texting Issues When I Slide The Keyboard
To fix this, go to windows directory, delete htcvolumecontrol.dll, restart... your system will restore the file from rom on restart
I didnt want to get rid of my custom speaker icon, but i did this and it worked. |

I don't think he's talking about the speaker icon landscape issue. This is unrelated to that. This is an issue with the stock rom that pulls up the contact search if you try to reply to SMS in landscape too quick. |

Just rename the file instead of deleting it, restart, and if the problem isnt solved, just delete the new one and change the name of the back up back. Simple. Once again, i no longer have any issues of the dialer or other apps popping up when i dont want em to... but who knows, if it comes back i'll feel silly |

I tried this method it worked right after the reset but after leaving it on all night and then trying it this morning same thing happens.

Re: Texting Issues When I Slide The Keyboard
Anyone have anymore info on this? Sometimes it even opens my phone dialer up or just covers SMS-Chat with the HTC Action screen. Huge pain in the butt!! I tried the volume.dll trick but the problem came back after a while. Seems that a normal soft restart will let it work properly for a while and then it happens again.

Re: Texting Issues When I Slide The Keyboard
I cannot rename or delete using Total Commander...I guess I could try Resco Explorer, but I think I will get the same thing...Any ideas?

Re: Texting Issues When I Slide The Keyboard
My guess is that there is probably a TSR that is causing this. I have the same issue as well.

Re: Texting Issues When I Slide The Keyboard
Tried removing the Read Only and System flag from the file and still cannot delete or rename.

this worked for me. unzip and place in the windows directory, then do a soft reset.

Re: Texting Issues When I Slide The Keyboard
I still have this problem. Tried many custom roms, and all do the same thing. Im back on the sprint rom and it seems a little worse then the custom roms. :( no one seems to concerned about this for some reason. It drives me CRAZY when im in a hurry to text. I guess I could always turn off TF3D, but i really enjoy TF3D
