Gmail Email Setup

Hey, has anyone set up there Gmail accoun to the Touch Pro? If you have do you have the same problem I am having with replying to emails. For some reason when I want to reply to my emails from my phone it doesn't send it email it gives me a error message saying "The message could not be sent. Check that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct. Then try sending again" and it sends to to the Outbox folder. I called sprint with this problem and they can't fix it. Can anyone advise on how to stop this problem from there Gmail account?

Thanks

I got the same error last week. I applied the Microsoft path and that fixed my problem. Worth a shot I guess....

How do you have Gmail set up? Mine has worked just fine since I set it up, even before the MS patch.

::knocks on wood:: I haven't had any problems either since my email was first setup.

Then again, I had the geek squad at BB set it up but I'm sure it isn't that hard.

what do you have the outgoing (SMTP) mail server set as?

Mine is 'smtp.gmail.com'

Thp happened to me a few times the other day. I have a Sprint Touch Diamond. After several attempts, I did a soft reset a couple of times and it was ok. I had the same exact issues.

Check it out to see what it is? or you can try to do multiple soft resets like regression.

To check to see what it is do the following:

1) Click on Email in landscape mode
2) Then click the 'Menu' softkey > Options
3) Select Gmail from the list in the box
4) Select 'Edit Account Setup'

Just go through the email setup and check the following as you go through:

Incoming mail server:
imap.gmail.com

Account Type:
IMAP4

Outgoing (SMTP) mail server:
smtp.gmail.com

Everything else is pretty straightforward.

Yes everything was step up as you posted. I downloaded the microsoft patch and I sent an email and it went through without that message. I am guessing everything worked lol.
