Phone will not show battery level on 3rd party battery

my TP will not show how much battery is left on my 3rd party replacement battery. it only shows the "!" in the battery status icon. However, the battery will last all day. any fix for this?

3rd party battery? meaning u didnt buy it from sprint and that u bought an off brand off like ebay or something??? haha
