wifi problems/won't connect

I am currently at an area that doesn't have Sprint cell service. But we have wifi in the house via direct tv. So I turned on my wifi, found the server, and connected. Well when I launch either Opera or IE it gives me an error that says it cannot connect or the find the server. any Ideas, I am not looking to sit on the phone with Sprint Tech Support.

Try turning off your Data connection completley. Even though you dont have service, it may be trying to connect via the data connection.
