Re: Very disappointed thus far w/ the TP for VZW
yeah VZ really fugged that thing...Id go with the omnia, Im actually jealous of it...3.2 inch screen(not vga), 8 gigs of internal storage, AND A MEM CARD SLOT!
5M autofocus camera, superfast processor, optical trackball thingy, and if you search youtube, someone got TF3D working PERFECTLY on it. |

Re: Very disappointed thus far w/ the TP for VZW
I figured out how to get past the customizations. So that's fixed. And, I figured out why it wasn't getting online. I'm coming from an Apache. And with each hard reset, I wasn't required to re-activate the phone. I had to perform the whole *228 deal. SO. Now I have an un-customized phone. Let's see what I can get it to do.

Re: Very disappointed thus far w/ the TP for VZW
Just picked up mine and it is a huge improvement over my 700w, but then again what wouldn't be? However, I do find it pretty sluggish. You would think going over 2 years with the same phone I'd have access to something phenomenally better by now. And for the most part it is, but it's not what it SHOULD be.
I must say I do appreciate this open and honest discussion. You mention anything remotely negative on HoFo (http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=297) about any VZW phone, and they all think your trolling. I swear all the posters there must work for VZW...I see just now they seem to be starting to accept the obvious about how much worse this phones is than the Sprint/AT&T/Alltell versions....finally. It's kinda hard to deny, isn't it? |

KB lag has been discussed on this forum. It helps some people to turn off T9 and word correction and completion...

Re: Very disappointed thus far w/ the TP for VZW
I had the same problem at first not as bad as some are reporting my text never lagged just opening programs, then I did these 3 regedits and now my VZW TP is running as it should, no lag what-so-ever.
The following 3 hacks increase system performance and makes the Q more responsive: Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\ Changed limit from 16384 to 32768 Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS Changed - CacheSize to 4096 (NEW!) Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\StorageManager\Filters\f sreplxfilt Change “ReplStoreCacheSize” dword decimal value to 4096 or 8192 (edit: I find 4096 best, g-funk finds 8192) |
