I tried to change the color to chrome , but the paint peeled off and also it peeles the original stock color too. Thats the bare look of a TP battery cover with those flakes. I guess you can say they were made from recycle plastic.

You're talking about the clear plastic lens cover, right? The specks are just tiny dings from wear (setting the phone on hard flat surfaces). The dying didn't affect the clear lens cover in any way shape or form. As discussed earlier, it's a different composition that the main cover material thus unaffected by the dyeing process.

just take a cloth and rub the surface of the cover to remove any shiny buildup or scratches... after doing this it will look just like it originally did except with the new color you've dyed it to.

I used a black pair of jeans: I put the jeans on, then rubbed the cover back and forth on the jeans until it looked the way i wanted it to.

best of luck

thank me lol

Think of polishing wax on your car and buffing out some scratches. That's the same thing here. Not too hard, but certainly not too lightly. I used an old, soft terry T-shirt which worked wonderfully. Just work on it until the little scratches, lines, etc. disappear and you have a nice, smooth finish.

Use RIT evening blue. Half a pack in a medium size pot for about 5 minutes = perfect blues
