Mark Email Read from within TF3D

hey everyone sorry for reposting this, i thought i read about it a while back but because of the limit on the 'search' function here i couldnt find anything...

basically can i mark my email as read from TF3D instead of having to open my mailbox?... TF3D shows most of the email content and i rarely find myself having to open an email up...a nice 'Mark As Read' or a 3 second timeout like the SMS window would be great.... any ideas?

I do not believe there is a solution to this as of yet. I've tried a few things without success.

Yeah, would be great if it could be done from the menu, but I haven't found or read about any way to do this (yet).

I just wish I could keep the WM notification icon in the system tray from showing up. It stays even after I've read the message and it bothers me. Why do I need it there? I have the TF3D notification which works just fine.

Tap the icon and Save as Read or Dismiss...

That doesn't keep it from showing up - that just makes it go away AFTER it shows up. Why should I have to mark it read in my email AND on the taskbar? I just don't want it to show up at all.

It's not a TP issue - I've had this with evry WM phone I've owned, so it's a WM problem. I've just never found a good workaround for it.

look for "disable_email_notification.cab".

does what you're asking. I have it, but found it here or on XDA.

XDA - Thanks for that. Now, to be picky, I wish I could do it with the sound working, too :) And I'm not up for MortScript just for this.

I think this is the thread.

I wouldn't want the sound to message me every time I got a new email. I have push email and I get 1000's of messages a day. And that's before you count the spam!!!!!

Re: Mark Email Read from within TF3D

Oh this seems to affect ONLY mail, not sms/pic mail.

What notification are you talking about? sms or mail?

Yep - that's the one. I want the sound because I manage my own Exchange server with a dedicated spam VM and only get about 1-3 spam per week. I get about 50 messages per day that aren't moved out of my Inbox using rules, so I only get what I care about in my inbox.

With all the junk mail I get, it would also be nice to have a way to delete from TF, and have the next message pop up in the TF email screen.

exactly jc... something like that would be great!

It would be great if under Menu in the mail tab in addition to New Mail, Accounts, Send/Receive they included Mark As Read and Delete...

Its not that simple unfortunately. Otherwise I'm sure it would have been done. But maybe. More than likely its controlled by manila.exe.

+1 For this option. The TF3D email tab is useless without a "mark as read" and "delete" option.
