Flashing light for notifications:

Obviously we don't have that on the PRo, like we do for the Touch. However, is it possible that someone could create something similar where the navigational wheel will light up (like it does when it's charging) for notifications?

I did not change any settings (that I remember) and it has always flashed like it is charging whenever I get a notification.

Same here for me, it does the same thing on my diamond as well as my pro. If I get a missed call, text message or whatever else the D-pad will flash to let me know that I need to check it out.

Mine flashes and uses different patterns for each type of messages. I haven't memorized which pattern is for which message yet but I will in time. There is information on this in the owners manual I have a Sprint TP by the way.

a blinking white light (all corners lit) in like a 10 sec interval is low battery. I think.

Yup, its a setting included in most custom ROMs.

The slow pulse is low battery and a quick pulse is for email. [incase you didn't notice that by now...]

grayed out LED notification options fix
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure how many of you noticed, but the option to flash LED on a new text message, email, voicemail and missed call is grayed out and disabled in the Sounds and Notifications Settings.
Here's a Fix:
If you have TF3DConfig 0.6.7 Installed:
1. drop the attached tweaks.xml file into Program Files/Diamond TF3D Config/
2. Open Diamond TF3D Config
3. Open the "Tweaks" Tab and check the bottom four options
If you do not have TF3DConfig 0.6.7 installed, you can change the following registry settings:
Text message LED:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D65B-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}\
AvailableOptions change from 11 to 0
Email LED
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D65A-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}\
AvailableOptions change from 11 to 0
Voicemail LED
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D661-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}\
AvailableOptions change from 11 to 0
Missed Call LED
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D660-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}\
AvailableOptions change from 11 to 0

Re: Flashing light for notifications:

u must have a registry editor installed in your TP in order to make changes. Look in the stickie uptop for PHM reg editor under TP essentials/useful dowloads, it is free ,dowload it. I you have one then disregard and make changes

JHaidler 01-19-2009 10:35 PM

Re: Flashing light for notifications:

go to settings/sound & notifacations/notifications and then you can choose the option for the lighting up of the wheel for each situation

HBOOT 01-19-2009 10:52 PM

Re: Flashing light for notifications:

Dude, those options are greyed out!!that is why we had to make changes in the registry.

Re: Flashing light for notifications:

So by changing the value form 11 to 0, what does it do? Also what do you mean by ungrey? I assume it means enable, but doesn't changing the value to 0 disables the LED flashes?

I also noticed that the flashing light when you get a call is weird for my TP, the wheel and call buttom will flash, while the end button will stay lit. Is that normal?

Generally 0 means off, but in this case it gives you the option in your notification settings.
