Any nav software that works?

I've used Garmin XT and TomTom in the past, but they are not VGA compatible, correct?

I am currently using tomtom on my touch pro and it works perfectly. From what I understand Garmin works as well.

I have been using Garmin Mobile XT with the latest maps. i believe the Garmin program version is 4.20.50. I have had no trouble with the program acquiring a GPS signal and keeping it locked. It its running from a SanDisk 4GB MicroSD card. Hope this helps!

maybe its a stupid question. but can tom tom or garmin GPS still work on a reported phone(lost or stolen) since its just a software or does the phone have to be active ? ?

What makes these better than the free Telenav Sprint already offers?

I use GarminXT (running from a 16 gig sandisk card), CoPilot Live 7, Google Navigator etc etc on my sprint touch pro activated on verizon service & they work perfectly.

I had an 11 satellite lock this morning in HTC GPS tool, I did the aGPS tweaks.

For most of the people here with old Sprint SERO, that is not free.

If you don't have network access telenav will not work. If you use igo or tomtom/garmin etc where the maps are on card your nav will work without service.

I have tried and tried to get Navngo Igo8 to work on my TP and can't. Any tips?

Re: Any nav software that works?

Pm me your email. I am assuming you have all the maps. I will not be discussing those in any way. You will also need a sys.txt file that has been modified. I have it on my phone and will get if from there. The sys.txt will go on storage card under igo8 and replace the other, and also on the phone itself under program files/igo8.

If you try one, you will know. SprintNav is sub par even if it allowed maps to be loaded on the devise.

Ya I have to agree about the sprint nav. It sucks compared to the others out there. I have been running Garmin Mobile XT for a while now and I really like it.

Jason559, here is the sys.txt file you requested. I did not write this, it came from the thread about igo8. The problem with it not working on the Touch Pro I found while I was in class bored one day and fixed it haha.

Sorry to hear about your POI's, but this may make them work for you. Make sure you replace the one on phone/program files/igo8 and the one in storage card/igo8/content (i think).

Enjoy.

Re: Any nav software that works?

I have both tomtom and garmin. Tomtom dosent always get a signal for some reason. I downloaded the quick gps data too. I like garmin better, but garmin dosent force the screen to stay on (and I selected it to stay on all all times while running), so thats kinda anoying. Hopefully a fix comes out soon.
