Does touch pro from Allell have wifi capability?
 

The Alltel sales page does not state wifi capability, and I am reluctant to rely on a salesperson's knowledge of a new product.

I believe the generic TP does have wifi b/g, according to

touch pro has WIFI. i have the alltel touch pro in my hand and i can say that it does have it.

Con is correct and the Diamond also has wifi as well

I'd like to bump up this post and ask again if anyone for sure knows this or if something's changed. I'm hearing conflicting reports about the Touch Pro having wifi on Alltel.

The Alltel page shows wifi but it was nowhere to be seen on their display model and I see online where I'm not the only one who noticed an absence of this feature.

I want to get a Touch Pro tomorrow, but if there's no wifi I might have to reconsider. Can anyone update and verify this? Thank you.

Yes, I used it today on my Touch Pro from Alltel. You can see it for yourself if you look at the display model again.
From the Today screen touch "Start" in the upper left corner, select "Settings" When that screen comes up select the "Connections" tab (near the bottom) From there you can select "Communications Manager" to turn WiFi on, or select "Wifi" to see the settings.

im sure most people saying it doesnt, are looking for a hard switch for wifi like on the titan.. this isnt the case on the pro.. like an above poster said you need to goto the comm manager to turn it on off.. once u get going youll end up dl'ing an app to make getting to that option easier

I can also confirm the Alltel Touch Pro has WiFi. In fact I'm currently using it at work. Browsing this site both on my phone, and on the computer. How hardcore is that? LOL

Either way Con is right, (as he usually is, being the resident Alltel Guru). Always trust the Conflipper for all things Alltel. :-D

Wifi is on Alltel, have a model here with a Manf date of 2/19/09, has wifi under settings (its grayed out for some reason but you can hit Option and Wireless LAN to use it).
