Slider Mechanism Gap

I am on my second tp and I am noticing the gap between the screen and the keyboard to be more pronounced on this one. Every time I press the screen, the whole layer moves. It seems like my first one did this as well, but I did not notice it that much. Does everyone have this problem? Has anyone noticed it go away as the slider mechanism breaks in?

Re: Slider Mechanism Gap

i didn't notice it on my first one. Had to get my first one replaced as the stylus sensor fell out. On the second one that I received, I bought a case, that goes around the phone. It's in two pieces so one covers the screen, the other covers the back from the keyboard.

Well to make a story short, I noticed the gap this time, I checked with my GF's phone and she has a gap too, but never used the case.

So the gap is there

Re: Slider Mechanism Gap

That is the only "defect" I have noticed with the replacement I got last night. The gap is noticeably larger on this phone. It really has a lot of play and moves down a fair amount when pressed. But the slider is smoother, and the screen sensitivity is a LOT better around the edges than my first. I think I'm going to just deal with the larger gap.

Re: Slider Mechanism Gap

There is a small piece of plastic packaging between the upper and lower halfs. If you haven't already, removing it improves the slidng mechanism.

I thought it was the plastic at first but I removed it early on and I still have the problem. It is a little annoying. Anyone notice theirs getting better with time? (mine is not)

Just curious, now that some time has p*****, if anyone has found this either improves or gets worse over time. I exchanged mine for other reasons last night, and the new one (11/6 build) has a much bigger gap than my old one.
