Compact Querty Keyboard Quirk ?
 

Hello All,

I love the compact querty keyboard.

One problem;
It defaults back to the "abc" side instead of the "T9" side almost every time.
Is there any way to make it default to the T9 side?

I know with the Diamond, when I open the keypad up for most messaging, it is set at whatever I last had it used. Meaning if I sent a text, and was using T9, T9 will come up for the next text. If I was using T9, then switched to ABC, then sent the text, then the next text I send will be in ABC mode. Same thing with emails. I imagine it works the same with the Pro, hope this helps

Thanks for the quick reply...I just tried it again in emailing.

If I set it to t9, then close out and go back in, I can literally watch it switch from t9 back to abc when the program opens...wierd.

Hmm very weird. Stock ROM? Any other programs that you installed that could be affecting it? When I'm in the "to" field in emails and texts, it defaults to ABC, then when i go to the body, it goes to whatever I had it at last. Just double checked to make sure I'm not crazy ;) I know the original stock did this as well, I just put Juicy 3.4 on a couple of days ago and this does the same thing. I'll keep my eyes peeled for any info on this, sorry!

Mine does not do this. If I select T9, it uses it all the time. The problem with this is when you enter your contact name, it doesn't allow you to pick the contact name, it just shows the word completion box. The only way I can enter contact info in the "To" box is in ABC mode. I then have to change it to T9 in the body of the message if I want word corrections like don't or can't. I've tried checking and unchecking the word completion boxes but it doesn't make a difference. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the help. I don't know...once in a while it works the way you say defaulting to the last one I used.

I have done some of the tweaks/cabs here, but not any that should have caused anything with the keyboard...oh well.

I also have the same problem, but in addition when I try to set the touch keyboard to compact it doesn't switch over right away. Eventually it changes, but I can never tell what causes it. Then randomly it will revert back to the full qwerty and then I can get it go switch back. Anyone know how to fix this?
