Re: CNET ratings of the Touch Pro, unfair? Lets show support for our favorite WM devi
On c-net I would rather see reviews from people who extensively use the TouchPro (Sprint) than from people who do not know what sprint and their phones are about. There are people on there that actually reviewed it based on their experience with the unlocked gsm version. Then we have the people that mention Sprint does not have 3g speeds LOL
Its good to show people what Sprint handlers really think of their phones |

It is totally my point that I came here for the development. What support for TP are they talking about? The whole PPCGEEKS is a support itself for WM devices. Why is a thread like this created for support? It is really funny I would say. They say that they to want help people decide to get the phone or not. Here's my answer. If U go to a ppc site, They will tell U to buy PPC. If U go to crackberry, They will tell U to buy BB. If U go to modmyiphone, They will tell U to buy an Iphone. So what help to decide are they talking about? If U Don't like what CNET say, Ignore it and move on. U and U alone know what ur phone really is. If U are not too sensitive and too insecure, U will not make a thread like this. That is not only my 2 cents, That is a fact. |

Looks like people are feeling my positive review on CNET, I am rated second so far.

Re: CNET ratings of the Touch Pro, unfair? Lets show support for our favorite WM devi
i think the op has a good point in getting everyone who OWNS a pro to post a positive review. that being said, i think the best way to show support is by doing what most of us did : BUY A TOUCH PRO. i was going to write a review but i already know that it's going to turn into a iphone vs pro or sprint vs att&t conflict. all i can do is smile whenever i read a negative review from an obivious biased person because none of our touch pros crashed like the iphone 3g did when it was releashed. so let whomever say what they will, let's just enjoy our much better, faster and sexier phones!

Bonnie Cha says "the Touch Pro is thick and heavy, making for a pretty tight fit in a pants pocket"
In girls pants, any phone would be a tight fit especially in Bonnie's. It fits perfectly IMO. Her cons sort of seem weak. If she experienced sluggishness 'at times' then that's legit tho. Which makes me wonder, I wonder if they tested one of the faulty ones? If I read the review before seeing the rating I probably would have assumed she gave the TouchPro a four. She does provide alot of useful info but I think it is safe to say she hasnt spent much time with the phone to topple the learning curve. |
Re: CNET ratings of the Touch Pro, unfair? Lets show support for our favorite WM devi
well, i went ahead and posted a review and kept the bashing to a minimal. i think i did the pro justice. the bad reviews that i read did come from iphone users but we all know what's gonna happen: when att&t gets this gsm version officially, those same people will say it's the best thing yet! so let them have thier fun, bring on wm7!

Re: CNET ratings of the Touch Pro, unfair? Lets show support for our favorite WM devi
I looove my phone. Quick story.. There is this guy I know who bought "that other phone." I thought, "damn it... that other phone does look kinda slick." It made me want my touch pro even more! I spent months reading the same ol reviews, looking at the same ol pictures, and basically drooling at my pc in anticipation for what seems like an eternity. Then the day came, and I never looked back. The other phone is cool, but it is not on the level of the touch pro. From the clarity of the screen, to the overall funtionality of the phone, it is simply in a class of its own. My original touch compare to the other phone. I'm a happy man. My only complaint is the battery, but I keep a charger at my house, my car, my job... so I'm good baby!!!! Go UK. PEace.

Re: CNET ratings of the Touch Pro, unfair? Lets show support for our favorite WM devi
It would be really helpful to filter reviews. I don't care what an AT&T user "thinks" about the phones on Sprint.
I gave up on CNet as a reviewer a while ago. They seem intent on reviewing things from the lowest common denominator "consumer" perspective. ANY device that requires a little thought to set up is instantly knocked for no good reason, other than it didn't wow them with sparkles out of the box. I agree that some of the user reviews comes down to classic debates like Mac vs PC, but really at the end of the day, a lot of people buy expensive toys and it makes them feel good. There's a natural tendency to defend these things we've spent money on. I'm not trying to defend the dolts that gave half star reviews, because they are REALLY friggen obnoxious and detract/distract from the discussion, but I have been guilty of the same thing from time to time in my life. |

Human nature - but it happens in different degrees. I guess I'm in the minority in that CNET doesn't bother me. |

CNET and their parent CBS (Crappy Broadcasting System) always gives the biggest advertisers the good ratings.

There have been almost 100 added reviews to the CNET TouchPro page since the OP a couple days ago lol I feel a sense of unity among the owners and general consensus seems to be that the TP is a winner! That would be funny if they pulled one of their classic review revisions in response to the TP love.

oohhhh. What's the star rating? 4.5 wow. I don't think that's accurate. head on here and find out why.

Re: CNET ratings of the Touch Pro, unfair? Lets show support for our favorite WM devi
If you check user reviews on other sites, you will find that it's been getting a 4 or higher. So 4.5 does sound more accurate than the .5-1 ratings like deliberate bashers were giving it. The average will be a 4 in a month.
People love the phone, it's unanimous: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ght=touch+poll |

hah id give it a 4.5 as well. maybe im lucky or its just that im not ocd about certain things but i dont have problems with mine. For most electronics, user reviews are always a lil higher than official ones anyway because buyers know what they're buying. The other "experts" are giving it a 4/5 or 8/10 so everything makes sense to me
I don't care how much they hate windows mobile, cnet should scoot it up half a point. The other sites are doing it, so should they! haha Someone from ppcgeeks should go give them a training lesson or something. It could rock their world and theyll end up using two phones |
