Anyone using Second Today?

Has anyone been able to get Second Today application to work on the Touch Pro?

If so, can someone post a quick "how to"? I can't seem to get it work properly.

I loaded it when I first got it and had some issues. Admittedly, I didn't spend much time tryign to sort them out, just unloaded it. Seemed to specifically pop up when sliding out the keyboard and rotating the screen.

Try mToday. It works great with my Touch Pro. Very simple program but lets me switch to a second today screen (which I use for Weather Panel) and back very easily. I just mapped a shortcut to it on the Programs tab in TF3D and when I'm on the second Today screen, it's always on my Start Menu as a recently used program so it's very easy to switch back.

I've been using mToday and its been forcing me to do a Soft Reset when I return to my TF3D screen. It just freezes my TP completely up.

I "was" using second today, but then switched to the HTC action program and that lets me use TF3d and the WM Today native without any additional hassle. VERY fast too.

I've been using TF3D along with SecondToday (SPB Time, WeatherPanel, Resco Today and Messaging and Contacts/Speed Dial plugins) for weeks now without any ill side effects besides the phone being slower to load on startup, and SecondToday closes itself out every once in a while with no warning. Regular install from the thread at xda, don't remember anything weird happening with it...

Sure will, it's on XDA Dev. Let me try to find it.

I apologize, it's not Action, it's Manilla control. (I also have HTC Action)

I use 2nd today for a full screen version of weather panel (see the right soft button) on my Sprint TP running on Verizon service:

& it works perfectly. It opens almost instantly & works great. I have used it for over two months with no proble whatever.

Can you please give me the steps I need to setup Second Today? I want to put SPBPhonesuite and Diary on my left softkey. I tried it the other day it screwed up my TP. And mToday keeps freezing.

One more suggestion that works on tf2d and tf3d is manila control by matsogo. Go to xda-developers and search for Manila Control. I think I like it better than anything else I have tried to have an old fashioned Today screen and keepin real with m2d.

Yes, someone up above posted it. I gave it a try and I think I like it. It'll be nice to be able to use TF3D, yet still have easy access to the WM Today screen (esp for WeatherPanel) when I want.

You know, it's been installed for so long I really don't remember exactly what I did. I do remember it was pretty simple, all I did was install the 2nd TD cab & tell it to use weather panel as the only plug-in.

I then remapped my right soft key to open 2nd TD & it's worked perfectly ever since (probably 3 months now)

I have switched between tf3d and spbpocket+/shell about 10 times before installing second today. After installing 2ndtoday and running spbpocket+ for about 2 weeks now I love it and have had absolutely no problems. As for mapping the buttons to the soft screen I used the advanced configeration cab.

Re: Anyone using Second Today?

dumb question... what is the right soft key?
I have a HTC Touch and i thought the 2nd Today was cool but accessing it from anywhere in the M2D was not possible unless I go to my programs tab and access the shortcut to 2nd Today...

Unless I'm missing something, can this be accessed from anywhere within M2D ... in other words am i calling the app right or is there a better way of accessing the today screen within M2D?

Thanks

In this screen shot, the place where it says "WPanel" is the right soft key:

I used a program from XDA called "soft key manager" to set that key to 2nd TD.

Re: Anyone using Second Today?

Oh and this is always accessible this rigth softkey no matter in which tab you are in the M2D? In my HOME tab, it is displaying Programs as the right soft key

Since the right softkey is always assigned to various functions for each tab , replacing it doesnt defeat the purpose?

I saw the demo of the Manilla Control and it seems you can swipe your finger to call the Today screen... which is more convenient since it can be done on any screen and does not remove any current functions.... is that possible wit 2nd Today?

Thanks
