Re: Roaming

True that, there are some users that go to extremes. They set theit units to Roaming and forget about it. That is not cool.

Re: Roaming

I am in a fringe area where I live and have to set my phone to hard roam at my house. But when I leave I turn it back to Automatic. With that said you might look at the Airave as a solution in your apartment since you have a "dead zone". I do not have one yet but will be getting one soon. (Just have not had time to visit a Sprint Store yet.)

If you have DSL or Cable broadband, it might be a solution for you. Just a suggestion though.

If it is that bad maybe Sprint would pony up an Air Rave for you. I haven't heard if anyone has gotten one out of retentions yet or not.

If you have no other perks on your account and a sudden change in tower configuration (Sprint just sold most of their towers to TowerCo) or a new device decreases your reception in at area clearly covered by the Sprint coverage map (no where near the fringe on the voice/data coverage bubbles) then you should contact support now and let them troubleshoot your device.

Once they have exhausted those possibilities they will suggest and Airave and if you protest the monthly charge and nag about it using your home bandwidth which would take away from your families internet usage then you would likely be offered the Airave for 50$ and no monthly charge as long as you only set it to accept just the device in question. If you start adding other devices then they will reinstate the full 15$/month charge.

This is a define Sprint SOP for customers that have recently experienced a lack of signal due to device or infrastructure changes.

I'm personally not going to push them too hard after the deal I got on my Touch Pro. I won't be the one paying for the airave unit anyway, so it all works out I guess.
