Does anyone else have a crack in the chrome?

Wow, I've had the Pro since its debut day, and nothing even close to this. Definitely something wrong, unless its your case?

After living with my Pro for a few weeks now, I have come to the conclusion the chrome is its biggest problem.

I love the screen. The battery life has been good for me, no complaints. GPS is pretty accurate (but I have only used it thru Live Search). I love the look and feel of the battery cover, makes it look like a digital camera.

But man, the phone fell out of my jacket pocket onto a ceramic floor from 1-2 feet and it scuffed up the chrome pretty good on the corner. I also have a random pit mark in another location.

The phone is less than 30 days old and I am not sure what it is going to look like after a year. I mean its a phone that is with you 18 hours a day. It need to be able to survive some use and mild abuse.

Ya.. chrome is never good on any phone. But these pros are coming out cracked out the box.

If it was actually chrome, instead of painted plastic, perhaps we wouldn't have an issue.. then again would be heavier.. sigh. looks nice.. when its not all messed up.

30 days is a little over four weeks of "Testing" (Sprint's Return if you don't like it window)...

How many weeks do you need to see if your problem multiplies? Looks to me like a legitimate nick, maybe an accident by the manufacturer, I doubt that random spontaneous pockets will continue to appear in the chrome without further use and abuse...

If you worry about the chrome, do you believe that Sprint will replace it for you after your 30 days or with insurance? What happens in eight weeks, or 52? Will the phone looks so bad that you can't look at it anymore? Should you not own the TP?

Have you considered getting Invisible Shield to protect what chrome you have left?

I have the Sprint Textured Black phone cover, and it covers all the chrome, so I never see it anymore...

I stand corrected........ painted chrome. Well.. even real chrome cracks. I used to have a old Fiat. Freaking thing had a bad chrome crack.

I don't understand your logic really. I could spend all the money on earth on a very valuable item. Before I leave the store it would be flawless if that is design of the item. I cannot expect the store to believe me when I want to return it damaged and say "it was like that when I got it"... Nobody has any proof. And unless I have a time stasis bubble to put it in, it will become worn with use. So money spent is on the object at time of delivery, what becomes of that object over time is a test of how well you spent your money...

Things get damaged with use and time. Even new items are damaged at the manufacturer. So I suggest that you spend the time to look your purchase over very carefully before paying for it with a sales rep, if cosmetics are important or function even, so that if you do have a problem that is an obvious defect, you can return to the store with some evidence that there is a problem.

Tell that to the rest who paid over 300 dollars and got cracks on their chrome. Theres no logic to understand.... the first batch of Pros have defective Chromes on them. Even Sprint acknowledges it. Well.... I will wait till the last hour and I will give Sprint a call......
