Opera Mini fix for untrusted midlet
1 Attachment(s)
I'm using this java http://www.powerpda.info/?category=w...d_mod__vga_mod
not sure what evrybody is using. I tried using my old fix methods, but this java does it a little different and my old method doesn't work(can't find link to my old method). the last java on the mogul, I would get the untrusted notification b4 opera mini opened. Now, OM opens, then the notification comes up when I try to navigate to a website. Anybody know a fix around those annoying notifications? edit:uploaded vga cab |
Re: Opera Mini fix for untrusted midlet
When you are downloading the Opera .jad on the mini.opera.com website instead of selection "Download Opera Mini!" go down to "If this version fails to install or you would like to install a previous version, please click here", then choose "Download Opera Mini! (US English, Multiple certificates)". No fix is needed, it will ask if you want to allow it the first time you run it. Choose yes, always, and that's it.

Re: Opera Mini fix for untrusted midlet
Since this thread was used in the essentials thread, I'll post this here as well if anyone wants it.
I've only tested with the latest gmail APP thus far and it works very nicely, it'll even stay open in the background unlike previous editions with the midlet 2.0 (not sure if you can run multiple apps/games though.) The direct link to download this for free is; http://m.google.com/app/v2.0.6/L1/gmail-g.jar |

Re: Opera Mini fix for untrusted midlet
I have just tested this version of Java (Jeodek Build ID: 20070403) with MGMAPS.
Stored maps is one of the main features I use when I am out of the country. However, for some reason this version of Java does not think the HTC TP can access storage. Anyone know if there is a way to enable storage access. I have other versions of the Esmertec Java that support storage but those do not support vga resolution. The message I get is: Error Filesystem storage is not supported on this phone The other problem I have with this version is that you can not drag the map around with the touch screen. This is a little strange since you can access the menu system with the touch screen and even move the map if you touch the arrow icons on the screen as well as change map types. But everything else seems to work including internal GPS and accessing map tiles from the internet. You can enable automatic movement of the map to track your GPS position. However, maps at true 640 x 480 resolution are a little too small to use while driving. Even hand held the street names are very small. Look very nice though, very detailed. I will probably stay with the other version of Esmertec Java that scales a 320x240 image up to 640x480. It still looks nice and is easier to read. Turbo3 |
