Pocket eSword on Touch Pro
 

Can anyone give me a hand with getting this app to work?

It looks like it installs fine, and the bible files copy over fine, but the app can't ever find a bible file, even though explorer shows the bible file in the right directory

You have to move them over to the directory that Pocket E-sword is in. By default, if you select to install it to your storage card, they put it in Storage Card/Pocket E-sword directory, but the program is in: Storage Card/Program Files/Pocket E-sword. I just moved them over there and it worked.

I installed pocket e-sword with no problems. You need to install the bibles and such in the same directory as the main e-sword program.

you need also SQL2.0CE installed to the Main Memory (to "Device" when running the cab):

Hello. I have read and searched on here for awhile now. Where can I find and download the esword CAB and the New King James CAB? Please, any help would be appreciated:).

I have used this application for years and it is very good.
The e-sword program must go in the main [device] memory, but you can install the books on the micro SD card. When you install a book, it askes where you want to install the book, just navigate to storage card/Pocket e-sword.
When you first start e-sword, it may say it can not find books. Go to "view", " Resource Location" and navigate to the correct directory on the SD card.
Putting the books on the SD card is best because these books can be quite large and eat up device memory.
As far as the SQL2.0CE goes, when e-sword is installed, it installs SQL2.0CE itself.

Thank you for getting back to me. I too have used this app on my Tytn's for a few years and love it:D! I now just got a touch pro 2 AT&T and would VERY much like to find e-sword in a CAB install file this around. I REALLY do not want to install through a PC if posible. I did go to a esword site, and only saw the pc installers. Will check again. Maybe a CAB does not exsist:(!?...

Here is another one I just found in looking for a cab file. It's called THE WORD.

It is supposed to be made better, better searches, and other things in a reveiw I checked, but still no CAB:( lol.

Has anyone heard of this one and if either of these programs someone has all the cabs in NKJV ;)?

I have not seen a "New King James" version offered for the Pocket e-Sword. You can go here http://www.e-sword.net/pocketpc/ to see what is available.
As far as I know, the program and all the books have to be installed via PC to the device. Why is that a problem for you?

yeah, you have to pay $15 for the NKJV version. its on the site on how to buy it.

Was just asking, as for years I have used the free mkjv (m = modern), and that has worked fine for me, and still will if I have to.

Reason I really would like a cab is the times when i really need it on my phone, and I am away from any other pc, there are times when I NEED to hard reset my phone and reload ALL my apps and cabs. And when this happens, E-Sword is one of the ONLY ones that gets left out, and it should be one of the FIRST I load lol.

I know that there are tools that can take a .exe file and recompile it into a CAB, I just have NO idea how to do it:(, or I would have long ago.

I just really only need to find whatever new or modern king james version in a Cab so I can read along in our bible studies with others reading the nkjv (the one I like the most too).

I installed the Pocket e-sword successfully on my Touch pro 2. But the installation of the bibles and other addons takes a thousand times slower than my experience with HTC sprint mogul. I mean more than a thousand time slower. Can someone help. I can't wait having this wonderful tool on my TP2.

The Bibles can be [should be] installed on your SD card as they can take up a lot of memory. You may be having problems because of low device memory.
