I just though of something else too, with G-Mail and IMAP with a PDA your messages don't get deleted on the server. pOutlook puts them in the "Deleted Items" folder, so in the G-Mail web client they just get that label, much like any other label you have setup in G-Mail They don't actually get deleted unless you actually log into the web client and send them to the Trash.

Actually with IMAP on the TP, they do get deleted from the Gmail server. I have confirmed this with multiple emails that I have deleted from my TP, that have completely disappeared from the Gmail server. They're not marked as deleted, and they're not in the trash. They are completed gone from the server.

When it asks your email address type in something like g@g.com or something crazy (The idea being that WindowsMobile wont be able to find automated setup instructions for the fake email you enter) . After the you will be able to set up the account manually, and you can rename the email address afterwords. Directions are actually posted in Gmail's setup instructions on their website.

Thank you! This worked like a charm!

Look for a label in your G-Mail called "Deleted Items" I assure you they are not gone!

Just a warning, for yahoo mail, the default automated imap setup is not encrypted, even for your password! You need to type in some weird stuff to invoke the manual setup with pop3 instead, so at least your password is encrypted. Shame on yahoo for their laziness and stupidity as I have to work around it because ATT DSL emails are through yahoo.
