Deleting Music!!!
I have songs on my storage card and every time I update the list with new songs, (or deleting old sons) it doesn't update in the touch flo application. My now playing list is polluted with missing files.. Does anyone know how to delete old music files from the Now playing list and the touch flo music tab and force it to search for new music.. THanks!

Re: Deleting Music!!!
hit library softkey then goto playlist then menu theres a delete option

Re: Deleting Music!!!
I tried this, this will only delete songs that have been added to my playlist... I am trying to delete and update the songs in my Now Playing list... or the Songs list... These songs will not update nor will the deleted songs titles be removed??

Re: Deleting Music!!!
I may be misunderstanding you, but here's what I did to delete the songs already loaded on mine. Go to your File Explorer. Delete the contents inside of "MUSIC" folder in My Device.

Re: Deleting Music!!!
That didn't work either.. I loaded my music from my micro memory card... Now whenever i add new music from my computer to the memory card, the new music does not show up in the Music tab in touch flo... Also when I delete an old song from my micro memory card, the song name still appears in the Now Playing List with an exclamation mark (signifying a missing song) and I cannot clear out this music.. Someone else has to be having this problem..

Re: Deleting Music!!!
yes I know exactly what you mean. Mind You my device is finding the new songs, but it isnt removing the old songs so i have playlists full of exclaimation points like yourself. Ive tried making sure the folder was deleted and everything....what ever temporary information that gets transfered to the device does not reconcile after a sync today im planning a trip to sprint...hope it helps some of these issues

Re: Deleting Music!!!
haven't tested (too lazy lol) but try this...
-remove your card -reset the phone -with the card still out of the phone go to the music player -I think I remember seeing a update now option my first time starting the player... my guess is that option should return when the phone doesn't detect a card... -after updating the database I would reset one more time -insert card & then navigate to the player... this time when you update, your database should be current... even though I haven't tested it, I'm pretty sure that should work... until someone finds the reg-edit to fix it |

God this is frustrating...HTC really dropped the ball on this music player. |
Re: Deleting Music!!!
I find the only solution is to go into the phone's Windows Media Player and use the Update Library function. This correctly updates whatever is added or taken away for me. The TF3D application seems to take some of its cues from WMP, although they don't tell you that.

Re: Deleting Music!!!
If you goto library in tf3d and you will see the first tab is the now playing list which will have your missing songs that show exclamation marks, go over to the all songs tab and the missing songs will not show just pick a song from the all songs tab and then that tab will now be the now playing list without the exclamation marks and missing songs.

Re: Deleting Music!!!
Goto "My Device/Application Data/HTC/AudioManager_Eng" and delete "AudioManager_Eng" then soft reset. This will force AudioManager to rescan and create a new AudioManager_Eng file.

Re: Deleting Music!!!
i tried deleting this audio manager_eng file but it wont delete...i updated the media player and still have the ! icons...also in s2p i show 38 songs and the music player that comes with phone shws only 15...any ideas on what i can do or what might be wrong?

Re: Deleting Music!!!
I have this problem too - it's very annoying!
I've also (somehow) lost all my music in the Music tab in Touch Flo. How do I get it all back? It only shows the file I play not everything in my library |

It wouldn't let me delete it either, so I renamed the audiomanager_eng file (I just removed the "_eng" part), soft reset the phone, and when I clicked on the Library tab, it was searching for a few seconds, then the deleted song titles and the "!"'s were gone! :headbang: I was deathly afraid I was gonna have to hard reset... |
Re: Deleting Music!!!
Yeah, seems as though the music app is kind of finicky. What I found to work yesterday was to load just an album which would clear the playlist, and any missing songs. Then go to the All Songs, and load that.

Re: Deleting Music!!!
for me, I found that the storage cars has .trashes and I found that it was hidden then when I commanded it to show all files, it showed this and all my songs were in there as .trashes so I cleared that out and then all of the songs/artists were gone. Hopefully this helps

Re: Deleting Music!!!
I found a very inefficient and tedious way of removing songs from the library. It's good if you have a few songs here and there you want to delete.
1. Open up Windows media player 2. View all of your music 3. Click and hold the song you want to delete 4. Delete from Library 5. It will ask you if you want to permanently delete the from the device 6. Choose yes. When you are done deleting the songs you want, update the library in WMP and you should be set. |
Re: Deleting Music!!!
Is there a easy way to remove songs from the library without holding down on the song and deleting it? When I update it finds all mp3 files, including ringtones. So in my library it has all my songs and ringtones, I need to remove teh ringtones from the library.
Thank you |
Re: Deleting Music!!!
I had to put my ringtones in a different folder that the library doesn't search; they still came up when I looked for ringtones but not in the library any more.
