IS there such a program???
 

I was curious if there was a prog. that i could put on my phone which would allow me to view my home computer on my phone. For instance i would be at work and could be able to view my home computer to show ppl files i had or pics or what not. Kind of like a sling box but for a computer?

There are a few remote access applications
I use Log Me In (free)
Remote desktop which is free for WM. Although I have not played with it.

If you are wanting to view files, pictures, music, etc. try www.orb.com. I have been using this for a couple of years and it is pretty sweet. I use it to stream my live TV and MP3s. There has been a lot of discussion about this app on the forums.

I use real vnc. You can also install pcanywhere too. Both programs are not free though.

RealVNC is free for pocket PC. UltraVNC is a good free program for the PC side.

But I would use orb. VERY VERY easy to setup and administer, and to use. Requires no software t be installed on the phone itself.

I haven't tried this on the TP [yet], but I don't see why it won't work. I had it working on the Mogul.

I think if you are wanting to look at pictures, access files, stream media (even a webcam), orb is the best bet. Now if you are looking to actually log into your pc to do things like: check a status of a torrent download, start some task, etc, then one of the Remote Desktop apps would be best.

Where can i get remote desktop and does it really only work with certain versions of windowsxp and vista?

if you know what you're doing you can add it to versions of xp or vista that don't include it. I've always had win xp pro and win vista ultimate boxes so I've never had to add it in because it is already there.
