Idea for fixing earpiece issues

Hello everyone, I just thought of something that may be able to solve the crappy earpiece issue. It seems that the problem occurs when the device volume is at any level. I think that this is caused by the earpiece having to much bass being produce. The fix can include an equalizer that only effects the earpiece and filter low frequencies and maybe boost the higher frequencies. I believe this would greatly improve the quality of the sound produced by the earpiece. I do not know how to implement this but others might. Any info on this idea?

I was wondering if anyone else was having this same issue. Sometimes I can barely understand the person that I'm talking to.

yeah seek an exchange. Mine is a little bassy but no distortion or crackling and can understand everyone i talk to. It's a hit/miss whether you get a good earpiece or not.

It's a known issue. It may not be bass as much as just the signal is to strong. No, not the radio or "phone" signal, but think of a car audio amp. Now picture turning the gain all the way up. It wouldn't matter what the volume level of the car radio was, the over whelming amp signal would destroy the sound before it got to the speakers regardless of the radio volume setting.

Then again my speaker phone sounds ok. So it may be lose wiring or an all together damaged ear piece.
I noticed something else. When I put my ear to the speaker phone or even the top part of the phone (where the crease is for sliding) it sounds more clear coming thru there. So there may be some thing dampening the sound before it makes out of the ear piece.

I haven't owned a phone before with so much audio clarity and I'm an audiophile in some respects and there was no need to install any audio boosting hacks. While your idea is good there's nothing you can do manipulate the sound that goes to the earpiece as that goes straight from the radio to the earpiece. I would highly suggest an exchange.

Would you happen to know your "build date"?

Mine is 10/16
I guess I will just exchange mine as well. Why should I try to fix something that should have been working in the first place.
