Reliable WiFi?

Is anyone able to actually get a reliable WiFi connection using the Touch Pro or any PPC in general? i.e. connecting to any random wireless router for Internet access (useful when there isn't strong EVDO signal). I keep running into errors where the IP address doesn't get assigned (shows up as from "PocketPC Networking", but from the same access point I'm able to connect with my laptop and iPod Touch. Not once have I had an issue with these devices, but my Titan, Diamond, and now the Touch Pro all have the same issue. The strangest thing is that just doing a basic soft reset fixes it (it actually boots up and the next thing I know its connected just fine). Has anyone run into this or is there anything I can try to make this a bit more stable?

I should note that creating an ad-hoc connection like with wmwifirouter doesn't actually seem to be a problem, it's just connecting to another wireless network. I need this very badly as I have poor signal in my basement and would rather not have to purchase a signal repeater or whatnot.

Thanks!
