backing up mogul and putting it on touch pro

So i have a mogul, but i just got my new touch pro in yesterday. I am a text message fanatic and i want to keep all my messages. Is there any way to transfer all my messages to my new phone? Thanks for the help.

You could d/l PimBackup and select only messages on the option, I used PimBackup to xfer my contacts my old phone to my new phone.

It is also just a great program to have for contact/text..etc...backup.

The 3rd.....you got me as I was typing...LOL.

If that does not work for you, you could try SPB Backup. Works great for me.

Try Dashwire website. I'll copy your call history, photos and such. Pretty neat site.

Oooh, I tried dashwire...not sure what went wrong but every time I updated a contacts info...it duplicated it. Cause me major stress. I prefer PPC PimBackup. Thats a great program. I also have and use Sprite and Spb Backup. In the past, theyve both worked well for me but now Im not so sure about Sprite anymore. I just used Sprite to backup my pim from my Mogul and then restore to my Pro. It seemed to work fine antil I noticed some weird things start to happen. (See the thread I started a few minutes ago about the issues with my backup & restore.)

I also use the latest sprite software for device backup. I have never bothered to attempt to restore to another device tho. About the Dashwire, I know what went wrong. There flashes a very quick popup screen that asks if you want to delete or merge the contacts. IMHO, too small to really draw attention to it and too easy just to accept defaults (which you end up getting duplicates)

Fortunately, all my contacts, calendar, to do and mail is on my exchange server and when I setup a new device, and do the first "sync", life is all back to normal for me. :p

I used SPB Backup, simply because I'm most familiar with it. Just don't restore the registry or the databases or the e-mail and you're good to go. Gave me services.exe errors on the restore, but it worked fine anyway.

Are you using version 2.01 ? That is the latest and I have not had any issues that you describe so far....

Re: backing up mogul and putting it on touch pro

my only problem with ppc pim backup is that when i back up the messages, it only backs up 355 messages which is maybe like the 1st week i had my phone. i probably have over 10,000 messages. why does it only do these?
