Definitely plastic with chrome paint I was a little dissapointed by that. I have had mine since 10/27 and I can see it chipping and scrathing off around the mini usb port >:O

just think folks....the diamond has a black plastic edge around it. when it wears it will be 10 times more noticeable.

this might be the best solution for you!!

try getting some nail polish remover,, and use a piece of cloth or cotton, maybe even a cotton swab for better results,,
just rubb it on the chrome,,, and it should come right off, to the color of the plastic,,and hopufully it will turn black, you might want to try in a small area first,, some plastics are dull gray!!!
