Annoying issue with OS Keyboard
 

Solved!!


Tonight,for some strange reason,my on screen keyboard switched from ABC QWERTY to the Numeral Keyboard...When I press the ABC button to switch it back,it refuses to swap back and is stuck with the numeric buttons.

I tried switching to compact keyboard and all the other options.Soft resets dont seem to fix it either :(...Anyone have any hints on things I may try?

Use a different SIP like PCMK (pocket CM Keyboard)
Only issue I have is the Old Default SIP selector doesn't work with the TP mine still reverts back to the Compact QWERTY after a soft reset

If you're trying to insert letters in a field that only accepts numbers it'll do that. Try just going under any window with no text input, open the soft keyboard and change it back.

I'm having the same issue but thought it was something wrong with my TP so i just resorted to using the letter recognizer when writing without the keyboard. Is there anything other way of just getting the other keyboard back and not having to install another one because i was quite fond of the original one that stopped working?

Naa I was messaging a friend and closed it to get back to work :P
She replied,and when I tried to,the Numeric portion of the onscreen was active..So I hit the ABC and thats when it started...few hours later...nothings changed with trying multiple changes including regular and landscape modes

I wonder tho...is the .cab to install the default in the windows directory..hrm...maybe I can just reinstall it from there

Ok this got it back...after soft reset,ya have to rechoose the Full Qwerty again but all seems good again :)

Oh yeah, coming to think of it now I remember that this was a problem some observed when they enabled word completion. It breaks this particular SIP.

yeah I remember reading abit about it,but it totally slipped my mind that this is what they were referring to lol

Funny how the OP was from 1-08...and its STILL an issue at times

I thought I was going crazy...my keyboard keeps changing once in a while...I keep having to set it back to compact qwerty...

Its not solved! It keeps happening over and over. Every time I set a calendar event it gets stuck on numbers again. Is there a permanent fix for this?
