Custom Text Message Ringer?

I was wondering if I was doing this right, cause I tried to convert this to ringer to .wav but I still cannot select (and see it) it in the sounds and alerts for text messages?

is my wav file too big? cause the converter i used it came out to be 700kbs

If I am doing it correct can someone convert this ringer to a smaller wav file for me so it'll work?

its not working for me.. as it did on my 800w.. its not in the files to let me choose from..

yes tried that too..

I will try that again

Edit: Tried for 4th time with both .wav and .mp3 file..

It still cannot be seen in the tab under sound and notifications
and the text message notifications..

yeah under ringtones for like calls and whatnot, but not text message notifications...

for ringers to show up for Text Messages you have to put the mp3 or wav in the \Windows folder.

That should do the trick.

Isn't there a reg edit that will allow you to get it of your sd card

just the windows folder? or the windows/rings folder?

cause i stated above that i tried that and i still cannot get it to work..

windows folder... it then shows up in the incoming text rings

You can also place it in: \Application Data\Sounds
That works for me.

you have to cut from your memory card or wherever you have it stored then paste it into the windows folder

You can put them on your storage card as long as you put them in a folder named My Ringtones. I have mine in this path:

\Storage Card\My Documents\My Ringtones

yup. i just put my txt ringer in my root of my Storage card and it worked like a charm. i only have one txt ringer so my root isnt cluttered. this is also great bc i wont have to relocate ringers everytime i flash:headbang:

Help please. I have my ring tone for text messages showing up on the list however, when I play the sample nothing happens. I get an error message when I try to play the .wav file even though when I go to properties it is a .wav file and set to open with media player. Any thoughts?

No but it does show as a .wav file and I can play it in windows media on my pc. In fact I use it for my email alert on my pc.

put ur text message ringer in the root directory of ur SD card and ur done! it'll show. u just need to throw it in the root dir (no in any other folder).

Highy unadvised... Retrieving ringtones/files off of your SD card for processes can corrupt your memory card. Always keep programs that run on boot/ringtones/sounds on your device.
