Bluetooth Tethering - capped?
Not sure if anybody else has checked... Tether up with BT and post your speedtests here. Here is mine to start...
http://www.speedtest.net/result/350343205.png This is tested on my Dell E1705 notebook, with built-in BT 2.0 w/EDR (BT355 module). For whatever reason, the connection speed hits the wall at 400Kbps. If I tether via USB or WiFi in the same location I get 1500-1800Kbps download speeds. I just want to see what others are experiencing, to see if maybe its not just my particular Broadcom built BT chipset. *EDIT* Thanks IMCOKEMAN for the quick edit ;) |

Anyone have some input on this?

You're definitely not getting EDR speeds, but well within the norm from my experience using BT on both the 6700 and 6800. |
Re: Bluetooth Tethering - capped?
Yeah, I know for sure that the speeds I am seeing are not what they theoretically could be. I just wanted to see if it might just be my 2.0 EDR module that is keeping it capped at 400 or if other users are finding the same thing I am...

Re: Bluetooth Tethering - capped?
I've never tethered my 6700 and 6800 through bluetooth for this reason. Mine were always about that speed and noticably faster with USB. I haven't tried with my Pro yet and probably won't just because wifi is so easy to use and more devices have wifi that bluetooth in my world.
