Want to install British / UK Voice Command
 

Is this as easy as replacing the executable? I'm digging the voice command that ships with the Sprint version of the Touch Pro, but I'd really like to have that British accent. I don't want to monkey with the rom too much yet as I'm still getting used to it....so if it's as easy as a file replace, i'm in business.

Call me an anglophile...

PS- this phone was a WELCOME upgrade from my old Apache. I can now put my phone in my pocket.

I havent used the Voice Command's yet, so i'm not much help..just didnt want you to think people were ignoring you..

To Hibby - I know you know what you're talking about, so i wouldn't doubt ya.

BUT - back in the early days of the 6700 kitchen, there actually was an option to select between the UK and US VCs. The commands are identical, the only difference is the chick read back to you in what I would say is a much more....well...british accent. Coming from Kansas, I just think that's classy as hell ;)

I'm curious as to whether the european / GSM versions of the phone ship with the UK VC on it.

If there's any super smart phone haxors out there that could figure out how to make that version portable (if it does indeed exist)....not only would my anglophilian urges be satisfied, but you would probably be my short-term hero.

Duh...great suggestion! Found a guy with the same issue...PM'ing - i'll update this thread with whatever I find out for archival purposes.

maybe its still in the oem.... ill take a quick looksy but i doubt it
