User agent in PIE
I went to the usual places in the registry to make PIE identify me as a normal broswer, but for some reason the websites keep seeing me as mobile. Anyone know any tricks to make it identify as a normal browser?

Re: User agent in PIE
It can be set using advanced configuration tool and it sticks too!!!

Re: User agent in PIE
make sure all 3 below match what you have
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Internet Settings\ 5.0\ User Agent] 1) Change the default value to "Mozilla/4.0". 2) Change the "Version" value to "MSIE 6.0". 3) Change the "Platform" value to "Windows NT 5.0". |

Ok, so it seems some sites will work and others wont depending on the string. Can anyone reccomend some generic strings? MSIE 6.0 mostly does not work. I tried "opera" and it made one site work.

How can I change my default web browser?
This might be a stupid question but I can't seem to figure it out. Somehow my default web browser got changed from Opera to PIE and it's driving me crazy. How do I switch it back?

Re: How can I change my default web browser?
Have you looked in settings, either in Opera or elsewhere? Or maybe back up everything and do a Hard Reset to fix the problem.

Re: How can I change my default web browser?
Ok...I found a way to fix it although it didn't involve a regedit like I thought it would. I basically reinstalled Opera9 and it automatically set it as the default browser (the CAB for Opera is actually listed as WM6_PPC_HTC_Opera9_WWE.CAB). Run the CAB and click yes when it asks if it's okay to remove the previous version. I performed a soft reset as well just to be on the safe side.

(question)Changing the browser
How do you change the default opera browser in flo?
|
Re: (question)Changing the browser
AFAIK I don't think you can...
|
Re: (question)Changing the browser
i'm sure you must be able to. i would assume there's something in one of the manila config files that links to the browser program.
might want to check xda-developers |
Re: (question)Changing the browser
If I remember.. on the Diamond boards someone posted a file that was essentially the PIE exe file renamed OperaL.exe to overwrite in windows.. then when you clickon the globe in TF3D tab it opens PIE..

Re: setting internet explorer as default browser?
I would like to know this as well. I'm probably in the minority here but I don't like Opera.

Re: setting internet explorer as default browser?
I would like to know this as well - Basically any time my HTC TP needs to use a browser I would like PIE to come up not Opera

Re: How can I change my default web browser?

Re: setting internet explorer as default browser?
I like the Opera because you can open more than one window at a time with the "tabs" and I like it because the touch ring zooms in and out which the IE doesn't do. Don't see my self going back to IE unless it is improved.

On the other hand the way I got it like that was by downloading the opera off the website and installing it, that beta opera becomes the default browser. When you unistall it or uncheck the box that makes it default in the regular options, PIE automatically became my default browser. |
