  3. Anyone have a screenshot of what it looks like?
  4. Is it uninstallable?
I tried this on my Diamond and the good news is that it works, but only for the calender OR the contacts- not both. Since the PI exe file is the same for both (as far as I can tell) once you work with one of them, the other defaults back. :(

1. The cab is designed for the Touch PRO only. I have no Diamond to test with and there are too many subtle differences to confirm for sure. If you want to try it out and let us know, awesome, but it may or may not result in the need for a hard reset if you don't take the advice in question 4.

2. If you read my post, you'll note that I was very specific in stating that it ONLY modifies the behavior of the calendar based on the original hack suggestion, so YES it is the expected behavior of the hack. The appointments on the home screen are ONLY available with the Outlook calendar.

3. You don't need a screenshot... it looks like the default Home screen when there are no appointments... it says "Calendar" and when you tap on it, it opens PI.

4. Good question. It should, but I would strongly recommend making a backup of the "Manila.exe" file in your phone's \Windows folder before installing... JUST IN CASE. :)

I'd like to try to do this. I've followed the link from the first post to install pocket informant but I'm confused...Is it the two attached files at the bottom of the first post? Do I just need to install Pocket Informant and this cab for this to work? Thanks

First, read post #16 for the easy install method... that will let you skip all the complicated steps in post #1.

Second, YES, you MUST install PI before installing this.

I've got it all working but I've relized I don't need the additional features of Pocket Informant and now I want to go back. Is there anything I should know/do regarding reverting? Do I just remap with that program? Could someone please decribe the process if not? Thanks!

If you installed it via my cab, you should be able to just uninstall it... at least, that should work.

Otherwise, yes, remap it yourself using the tool described in the initial post.

i did this by hand and did NOT lose the appointment list on the home page. the only difference is I left $ in the arguments...I also did NOT copy the two files, as the program "unsigned" them itself on the fly.

A word of warning on this hack since this wasn't mentioned...

The hack works however, if you decide to use the built-in task manager and use the "close all applications button", it will kill TouchFlo3D as it runs as an individual task called "Start." When you kill TF3D, you'll end up with a black screen as if you had disabled TF3D from the Today settings screen.

You've been warned.

You can fix this by adding a registry value
HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\ExclusiveList\User
Type = String
ValueName = Start[TABCHARACTER]\Windows\_mpman.exe
Value = Manila

to get a tab character just copy it from one of your other exclusions, if you don't have one... make one via the gui for the time being, and just rename the ValueName keeping the tab character in place.

I'll see what I can do to repatch my cab files to include these two enhancements.

Thanks for the tips! :)

For the record, I added GT2L's cab prior to any revisions and the appointments list on the Home screen is still there.

Re: Remapping calendar to TF3D

Is it? Ah, well, that makes my job a whole lot easier since I can just add the Task Manager exclusion and be done! :)

This is the down side of doing things when I don't use the program myself. I'm stuck waiting for other confirmations to know it works.

Glad to be of some small assistance to you. Lord knows I appreciate all of the time and effort you put into something that you don't even use.
