Re: Any1 looking for Touch Pro cases yet?

I don't want to be crossing swords with anyone, but I don't think the magnetic pouch would mess with the stylus factor.

Look at blackberry's. Their pouches have specifically placed magnets to automatically 'sleep' the phone when it is put in the pouch. However, the case itself is secured via magnet

That's true! But if it got the velcro case in the box I'll be Straight with that.

I seriously doubt that a magnetic latch will be a problem, in fact there is a demo of a carrymobile case on youtube where they actually turn the touch pro off and close/open the case (yes it has a magnetic closure)... And it does not turn on. Now I'm sure if the case was poorly designed and the magnet were placed near the stylus it would but a well designed case should not be a problem.....

The magnet is not involved in the signal of whether the stylus is in the holder. There is a very small switch that the stylus pushes in when inserted - this is what signals to the device that the stylus is in. The magnet's only function is to hold the stylus inside the device. It doesn't do the best job (the Mogul's use of friction worked better), but it is neat to have the stylus pull away from your finger on its own. :-) And that's a lot of what the diamond/pro is all about: wow-factor.

A magnetic snap case will not interfere with the phone at all. The velcro case is purely a cost decision, I would guess. It certainly isn't as easy to use as the magnetic snap cases. My main gripe is also the loudness of velcro. it's not a small patch of velcro. It's the whole flap. Not good in a quiet meeting to hear SCRAAAAAAAAAAAPE and see all the heads turn toward me. lol

I keep my phone in my pocket (please do not merge with accessory thread).

I wanted to see how many people keep theirs in thier pocket and what type of housing, casing you're using if any.. I am considering the CAST, but it seems bulky. I'd like to find a slim glasses type sleeve. I am currently using a 2 year old's low rise sock.

rePOST-NOTE: Sigh, I wish my post wasn't merged into a 34 page thread, since it not based on an accessory and replies will get lost or mixed in. It's specific to asking those that use their phone specifically in their pockets, what they use...

I use the belt clip that comes with it personally, but the few times I do pocket it I dont have anything on it, just make sure thats the only thing in that pocket.

I used to use the belt clip case, but since the pro is smaller than the mogul (the shorter width and rounded corners really makes it more pocket friendly) I now just stick it in my pocket. I just make sure nothing is in that pocket except my phone.

I wanted to keep my Diamond safe so instead of putting it in my pocket like I usually do with phone, I used the belt clip case it came with, it wound up poping out of the case, even though the velcro was closed well, and flying while I was running in the rain. It dropped and bounced. So from that lesson and mostly keeping my phones safe in my pocket, I am gonna do the same for my TP.

But I have on occasions put coins or my keys in the same pocket when in a rush inadvertantly, I scratch a nice ALLTEL good Screen Touch doing this..

Another problem is that if you use a screen protector eventually it collects lint at the edges..

I also just put the phone right in my pocket. When I wear jeans I just am careful if they have any of the metal fasteners (button type things) on the pockets to not scratch my phone on them or pocket my phone with the screen facing outward to avoid possibly scratching the screen. Also I use a lanyard so I don't drop it on accident and it really helps to pull the phone out of my pocket.

When I got the Touch Pro the BestBuy guy commented on how nice my Mogul (almost 1 year old) still looked, so I guess I'm taking good care of it.
