Touch Pro slide out keyboard

has anyone really needed the slide out keyboard? i used it alot with the mogul, but now i really don't need it except for typing this up. The full qwerty keypad works great. Does anyone know if the diamond is the same? If everything functions the same i don't mind a slimmer phone.

The reason I had the Mogul was for the slide out keyboard. I use my cellio ALOT for work. So typing IM's, text messages and emails from it would be a ***** without it!... IT'S NEEDED!!!

I agree coming from a mogul I used the keyboard extensively but with the addition of the new onscreen keyboards of the tp I use my hardware keyboard alot less still helps to have it for emails and long text convos so Im keeping it

Well I wouldn't really say I need the keyboard, but comparing it with the Diamond, I NEED the memory expansion slot.

The keyboard will be very nice though for longer emails/txts.

the onscreen keyboard works great, but for extended typing i'll pull out the keyboard
and the SD slot was also a must-have for me

I think for 99.9% of us, if we bought the pro, we need the keyboard - no ifs, ands or buts. Otherwise we would have bought the diamond.

I like having the option for expandable memory, more rom for installed programs. Yes it's a thicker device than diamond but it fits better in my hands. I don't text much, just to the wife, But I like having the option for onscreen or pullout keyboard. For me the keyboard makes it a faster experience.

I too rarely use the kb now since using Touchpal for my Mogul. Which also works great on my TP. I was thinking about maybe I should just get the Diamond since it's slightly thinner. But having no micro SD slot would bother me. I will have an 8gb card going to waste.

Don't do it. You won't be happy. You will always wonder what if and when you use up that 4GB of space, You'll be sayin' man, if i kept the TP I would have 4 more gigs to put these last few albums on!

i also find myself using the keyboard for extended typing or any typing that is more demanding in terms of symbols, numbers, or grammar. but for everything else im using the onscreen keyboard (compact QWERTY).

i do have a problem with the hardware qwerty though. there are 2 buttons missing that i used a lot on the mogul, the "ok" and "start menu" buttons. i don't even see where a button could be assigned to do it with a long press type shortcut. i have also noticed that the at&t fuze will have both of those buttons, dedicated!!! so im starting to wonder which hardware version is the most recent? the biggest differences i can see between the two are that the sprint TP has dedicated number keys on the top row, fuze doesn't. fuze has those other two buttons as mentioned.
