TP Dialer doesn't recognize area code info.....
 

Maybe i'm overlooking an option, but the dialer doesn't seem to give area code information anymore.

Example:
The mogul used to tell what state a number was if you attempted to dial it.

the TP doesn't do this.

Maybe you can export the phone reg from your mogul to the TP. Since I think the area codes are stored there..or check if there is an entry.

I don't have the Mogul anymore. sold it.

any other alternatives?

EDIT: my Touch pro already had this information at HKLM>software>htc>phone, it just doesn't show up on the dialer.

I believe the area codes feature is part of the smart dialer. I don't think the touch pro uses the smart dialer.

I'm not doubting that what you say is true, but if so, why did HTC bother putting the area code information in the registry?

Good question, this sucks too because that was a pretty neat feature that's been a part of non smartphones on Sprint for a while and i rather enjoyed it.

Haven't tried this... but maybe if you use the standard WM dialer instead of the Touch pro dialer it might work... who knows?

i was going through the registry last night for dialer info, and found that the smart dialer (ie the orignal touch dialer) settings are in it. It's just not enabled.
