Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own

Awesome thread! Thanks for posting all of this info. I made my own cable tonight (with the help of the splitter cable from my retired Touch) in about a half hour. It works awesome! can't wait to hook it up to the Avic in the car and start using the slingbox in traffic jams...

Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own

Awesome thread... but definitely NOT for the faint at heart.

Removing pin 4 is not easy... Once that is accomplished, everything else is a breeze.

Only issue is that hopefully someone will come up with a TWEAK that allows Sprint TV to be used with the video-out cable.

Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own

I did the method #1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...5&postcount=19 where you dremel the connection.

My TP recognizes it but the video that comes out is all messed up like an old school PPV channel.

Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own

I thought i would solder this, but looked at how small the wires were and noticed it was working very well just twisted for the test. Needless to say electrical tape works fine if you're lazy. Thanks for the write up Pzzt!

Re: Touch Pro Video Cable - Build Your Own

really - use the audio adapter that came with the pro.. crack it open and either cut or desolder the blue wire.. and then just use a little super glue on the adapter to close it back up.

WAY easier and cleaner and really fast... then just plug a set of av cables with a 3.5mm jack in and presto.. its all good.

no where locally had the cables that I could find/use cheap - so Im having a set sent in from Hong Kong.. $5 shipped.

Crack open, snip tiny blue wire, and enjoy. Didnt have an av to 3.5mm, surprizingly the Dollar store had some though, but they werent a dollar!!!
$2.99. but chea, picture quality is a 8 1/4 outta 10, mos def worth 3 bucks. had to turn the 3.5mm jack a few times before the video out screen came up, so jus make sure its tight. Ill probably invest inna better a/v to jack cable later to see if that makes the quality a lil better. Good lookin out brah.

Thanks for the tip - I actually bought the video-out cable from expansys (they finally came in - a month later) - but the cable is so big - and the primary reason I wanted it was to use with the myvu crystal display glasses.

Cutting pin4 on the included adapter did the trick - and it works *really* well - pictures below. The cover snaps right back on (it's off in the picture..) - the 1/8" --> 1/8" cable comes w/ the myvu.

(slingbox on myvu video glasses = purrrrfect )

Where did you get your myvu how is the picture quality.. I SO want to try those.. as soon as I get a set of cables that work with my adapter I will be getting a set of those classes.. now if we can just fix the keyboard issue with emulators so they run faster.. it will be on like donkey kong.
