Re: Issue: Data arrows constantly on

Hmmm, I have a sorta similar problem. My data connection is on but stay greyed out and won't have any connectivity spradically. I have to either recycle the connection or soft reset to get it to come back. I thought I had the problem licked by keeping the "location" setting on but its back again!! It's driving me nuts. This is the only problem I have with my pro! If I could find a fix for this it'd be perfect! Anybody have any idea's?

AdvancedConfig has an option to change the dialer skin back to normal and fixes the connection arrows.

Is there anyway to keep the PS dialer but have the data arrows gray out? I like the PS dialer but I dont want to have my battery to die faster then it already does with the PS dialer on.

I have always had problems with the arrows staying on randomly, but with no extra dialer skins on both my TP and my mogul. Problem was it was using the radio (for what i dont know) and killing the battery. Nothing was actually accessing the internet, as a matter of fact nothing COULD access the internet, it would say you have to have an active connection. Even trying to turn off data connection in the comm manager proved useless as it would fail at trying to stop the data session. I found the best remedy in this situation is to either soft reset or make a call (i use a 1 sec call to my voicemail, just long enough to make connection) becuase that instantly kills the data connection.

I don't know if some of you skipped it, but when you have the connection, no extra battery life is being used* unless data is being transferred. It should be dormant.

*[technically, a ridiculously negligible amount of battery is used]

Thanks for the input :-) But in my case the arrows are lit up and it is actually using the radio. And it will stay on indefinitely for no reason what so ever. I can verify the radio is being used by the current draw as seen on the screen i have from nuePower cpl. And if i dont catch it, it will usually kill a fully charged battery in about 2 hours. Also, during one of these episodes no other program can access the internet. It will give me an error saying that i must be connected to the internet. Manually disconnecting it from the comm manager would just cause the comm manager to lock up and not respond, requiring a soft reset. This happened on my mogul from time to time, too.

In that case, somethings definitely wrong. You need to use a network too like dotFred TaskManager to see what processes are sending data

I had this exact problem with nuerom on the Mogul. Ended up having to force close the data connection.

Are you using nueGPS?
