Re: Possible reason for low volume

I left my protective plastic on for the car ride home, it took about 2.5 seconds to realize why my sound was EXTREMELY crappy on that first call and I ripped the top piece off so the phone was still protected...

After removing the plastic my sound was still bad (not talk into a tin can and string bad as it was before but still bad). The sound cabs did not help. I inspected my speaker hole with a loupe (high powered magnifying glass) and found a thread stuck under the under the light sensor that was vibrating during the call. removed it and sound was 100% better.

Hard reset and installed diamond config and selected to turn off the 100db limit and use the high sound profile and now its damn near as good as my Q9 and perfectly acceptable. Unfortunatly the batter life sucks, so I hope the next has better luck.

People don't like the stock screen protector (the one in the manual package)?

I think HTC has the best stock-shipped screen protectors out there (ever since the Touch). I love how they're thick, smooth and glassy, and go on without bubbles like a static sticker. They also don't scratch very easily.

Incredible quality, if you ask me.

It's funny that people even think that's a screen protector.](*,)

I can't get mine to go on without specs of dust, and now it looks ****ty, cleaning doesn't seem to help.

Same here, if you make any mistakes putting it on the first time, it only goes downhill, I just spent an hour in my steam filled bathroom trying to avoid dust. No luck :\

LOL, people are complaining about the volume because they didn't remove the protective clear shipping wrap off the front?

That said, the ear piece volume is not quite as loud as other Pocket PC's I've had, but It's not that bad. Although I primarily use a Bluetooth headset, which gets plenty loud.

The Speaker on the top on the otherhand is extremely loud. Wow. It's the loudest speakers I've ever had on a Pocket PC. I had to turn my ringer volume down.

got mine yesterday... it comes with the protective plastic coating that you have to take off, but there is a screen protector in the box that is excellent (cutouts for speaker and smooth, near perfect fit!) once fitted, you will not notice that it is on.
