so i was poking around my tp and saw this folder...anyone esle? apparently i can write to it as the enclosed screen capture was saved to this directory. the capacity matches that of the device itself when i plug it in to the pc and use wmdc to explore the device

I should hope so, if you don't have a root directory winmo won't boot.

Are we missing something here?

/ = device root (AKA: My Device)
/Storage Card = storage card (duh)

The device root is your built in storage.
