Re: Touch Pro Build Date

Why buy the phone in the first place, if they are all suspect? :D

P.S. What do you mean by overheating? Do you mean the phone get warm, or so hot is shuts off completely, burns you, makes the screen change colors, melts plastic? Overheat has been used with alot of drama here so the term is not what it means anymore... If it is the former, they all get warm. If it is the later, then you have a bad phone.

If you are talking and charging at the same time, try using the USB port from a computer instead of the charger that comes with the phone. Maybe a lower current charge might cause less heat etc... :)

Not sure about him, but mine gets too hot to hold. Very annoying. It also stops charging, and ends up having LESS battery than before you started the call, regardless of being on a charger or not.

You are a very perceptive person, you might want to get a different phone... I was playing with the Treo 800, and I noticed it had WM 6.1, a hardware KB, touchscreen display... :D

As stated above, try a charger that uses less current to power the phone while talking on the phone. That should produce less heat.

not true. people have gotten more than 5 exchanges from bestbuy and not having problems. i just returned my this sunday. i got a raised home and back button and there is a enormous gap between the screen and keyboard. it was driving me nuts.

the new phone has a manf date of 11/17/2008. It is near perfect. no gap, no raised keys. only thing i've noticed is the stiff spacebar and enter key but that is fine.

My Manufacture date is "19-Nov-2008" that is 11-19-08 and I have no problems except sometimes the data connection disconnects and i cant get it back without going into airplane mode and turning the radio back on or rebooting.

For what it's worth...

VZW Touch Pro 11/11/08. No build quality issues to speak of. My buddy's Sprint Touch Pro has a weird issue with a squeaking keyboard when you pull it out, and mine makes a "woosh" sound, I guess where the keys are grazing the bottom of the screen.

got the replacement - no raised home key and the earpiece sounds a ton better! very glad i did it, although rebuilding on top of this stock rom is tedious, i almost have it back to where i want it.
