No way in hell I'd return my TPro...I liked the Mogul, but going back to it would seem like a serious downgrade.

Just imagine how awesome it will be once the real customizations and VGA apps come out..

This year, Sprint has really pulled a 180... no issues, no sneaky billing fees, and awesome customer service.

I live in an area with great sprint coverage, so that's not an issue

Personally, I'd try Sprint out again if I were you John... you can get it for free :)

sprints service has gotten a lot better. I think they are starting to learn you have to make your customers happy and they will keep your service. Who would have thought. Anyway not to hijack the thread.

Re: Anyone returning thier Touch Pros?

Today was my first full day of using it (got it last night), and I am definitely going to return it and get my Diamond back.

My main problems with the Pro are:
Crappy speaker (terrible quality, sounds metallic and is hard to hear)
Doesn't feel good in the hand - it is too big and just doesn't feel solid. When you hold it you can feel the sliding keyboard kind of move and it just feels like a toy. The build quality overall just seems poor, with one button feeling loose (and many of the forums reporting cosmetic issues)
The sliding keyboard is OKAY, but doesn't compare to samsung/other sliders. It isn't smooth.

I guess this phone just isn't for me, never had the mogul or a qwerty phone, so idk.

Anyone who is returning theirs wanna trade for a brand new 800w? I was going to craigslist it to get the TP but I can't wait anymore. Local trade only though. I'm in the bay area.

The phone speaker sounds like it is blown (have tried the tweaked csv, didn't help). The 4-way directional pad works up and down, but left and especially right are very difficult to make work. And the panel covering the lower 1/3 of the phone was threatening to peel off after I got it out of the box. Really like the phone, but I must have gotten the dud as far as build quality goes.

Diamond Tweak fixes the d-pad thing. That was annoying for me as well, but the Diamond Tweak has to be the best cab I've been recommended so far (by p-slim).

As for the speaker thing, the Diamond Tweak cab also has something for increased volume and a couple other things regarding volume. Anyhow, might as well try the cab before you return it:

what i dont understand to those of u who are having issues witn your pro is this: why get the pro when it first comes out anyways? everyone knows that there is always going to be something wrong with the first wave of something that comes out. xbox 360s, ps3s, cell phones, etc. i was one who bought the touch diamond when it came out because of the previous phone issues i had and the fact that sprint gavd me a great deal on it. i didnt know it had JUST came out! but like alot of other people, i had alot of issues with the sound and d-pad and a month later returned it. got my replacement last week amd works perfect! longer battery, gets warm after hours of use (not hot), and the d-pad is very smooth and responsive to its INTENDED commands. i love the pro and want to get it, but im going to hold out a few months so they can take notice of the kinks and work them out and then get it. yes, the registry hacks are cool, but u shouldnt have to use them to fix things that should ALREADY be working out of the box, they should be more for adding and enhancing. to those who got flawless pros, congrats! but to those who didnt, thats the price u pay when u rush. first wave releases are always the riskiest buys.

Waiting for release from Sprint is going to get a better phone or kinks worked out. Sprint just delayed it to get inventory upso ther won't be heavy backorder issues. That is what i reaf and was told from Sprint. I believe everything is the same on the Best Buy version and from Sprint.
