Where is Java on the Pro?

I cannot find Java for the life of me. Can someone tell me where it is?

Ditto, was going to make a thread about it. WE NEED JAVA. I wonder if you need a VGA version or will the current java cab run on it? Don't wanna be a test subject on this. someone?

Go to your programs and click on Titan. It will take you to a website that will explain to you what it is.

"Sprint Titan

Titan is a next generation Java platform for Sprint Windows Mobile devices. In addition to supporting existing MIDP Java ME applications, it includes the more capable CDC/Foundation Java Virtual Machine and OSGi framework. This combination provides a powerful platform for dynamic distribution and collaboration of independent software components and applications. Support for the Eclipse embedded Rich Client (eRCP) application model means this platform can run generically written rich GUI applications that can run across a broad range of devices and desktop computers. The platform also includes APIs to give you access to Sprint specific phone features. The Titan tools, which install into the Eclipse IDE, provide best of the breed development and source level debug capabilities for the platform. 3rd party tools are available providing advanced visual development and profiling functionality."

I did that. I downloaded and installed it, but the license is up. When I installed the patch to extend it, I got a ton of errors.

Edit....did soft reset after installing Titan, then installed update patch and it worked fine.

Here's the link to the Titan Runtime .Cab

Eval license update patch for Titan Runtime
To install the runtime evaluation license extension patch, simply copy the patch to your Windows Mobile 6.0 device and click the file to install. The fully-functional Titan runtime is currently available to developers with a limited time evaluation license valid until October 30, 2008.

Yeah mine too.... I'm taking that off because I think it is only an evaluation copy and not a full blown program..... IDK why it is on the TP

Re: Where is Java on the Pro?

This ver the Titan java software for the touch pro is decent, I like how it puts the icons of whatever java software you install in programs so u can start java programs individually the same way you would any native wm programs... but this ver of Titan is buggy... I couldn't install some java programs like gmail for example... but i suspect that's why a full version wasn't actually included with this rom... but will be in a future rom update... and more consumer friendly .... i hope...

Does anyone have a recent build of java that works on the Pro, correctly? I have one but when using the gmail app, it never saves my password. Opera mini works great, but gmail keeps forgetting, or losing, my password.

I think Sprint messed up installing lots of Demo/ Trial software on here...bunch of useless junk. Like the Titan, World Card Mobile , Sprint Navigation

Does anyone know if there is a more up to date license for the 'titan' java for the TP? I can't install it because of the invalid license. Also esmertec VGA java vm works ok, but i run into the same problems as boxermansr.

it stinks because my main browsers were opera mini and skyfire on the mogul, but now on the TP i'm forced to use opera mobile (i can bear this because the TP has way more memory than the mogul). also gmail for java is buggy under esmertec vga vm.

since diamonds and tp's are getting out there, i'm hoping more solutions will come up for us VGA users, and maybe a VGA skyfire?!

Re: Where is Java on the Pro?
