will the touch pro be any better than the diamond? lots of diamond problems.

i have been following the diamond forums. they are having lots of problems.

poor battery life
lots of freezes
staticy bluetooth
over heating
poor speaker volume durring calls
wifi turning on by itself

my questions is.... will the touch pro be any better?

with the devices being released so close together, you know we will share alot of the same parts.

i know we can only wait to see for sure, but what do you think. is there a chance we could luck out with a better device or are we screwed with a life time of hacks, custom roms, reg edits, and what not just to make it work.

When the mogul came out it was the same type of thing, issues after issues after issues until the custom roms started flying off the shelves which improved the phone tromendously. I suspect the same with the pro and the diamond, considering how improved the hardware is over the mogul, will be significantly improved with custom roms and what not.

I'm afraid it's going to be more of the same old same old. After using my work Blackberry (Curve) for a month or so, the shortcomings of my PPC are even more annoying. That being said, I can't bring myself to give up on my PPC and I'll be getting a Touch Pro as soon as it's released. It's like crack or something....there's a better life out there, but I can't seem to break away.

As noted above, this was the same with the Mogul. Expect it to be problematic at launch, but oh so sweet after a few custom builds and official updates. For me that's a small part of the excitement. Experimenting to make it better.

I am for making it better and experimenting, but I want things that should be good out of the box to be good. Speaker volume is one of those things that should be good out of the box for example.

Extactly. Every phone have problems when it 1st comes out but I'm hoping the touch pro will have less than the mogul did.

I will be so so sad if the touch pro has as many problems as the mogul did when it came out.

I honestly don't care. It's going to have problems at first, but they'll be fixed. For a 5-row keyboard, 288MB RAM, full VGA res, and TouchFLO 3D, I'll deal with the little quirks until it's cracked and hacked.
