Yeah, I'm really pissed at myself for giving up on the Mogul so early and switching to the Touch. What a bad decision that was. God, I miss my keyboard.

Honestly, the diamond is a great phone. Obviously everyone on this board is a little more discriminating than the average user. The only problem I've had at all is crappy battery life. Those with freezes most likely have software conflicts somewhere causing it. I'm running a telus rom on my sprint and its amazing. I still may switch to the Pro though because I do love to text and a physical board is awesome for that.

The battery life might kill it for me. I'm pretty much in Heaven right now with No2chem's latest rom. In addition, I'm so used to all of my buttons with AE button plus. I'd be giving up functionality for pretty looks. What to do, what to do.

I have a Diamond, and except for still not decided about battery, I can say that I've had none of the problems you've listed. No freezes yet, BT just as good as the Touch, etc. I see no reason to think that the Pro will have any more problems that the Diamond, which means it will be FAR better than the Mogul. So far, I'm quite pleased with the Diamond, and expect the Pro to be very similar. |

The mogul have some uncorrectable problems. Without s2u2 I would have gotten rid of it long time ago. |

True, but I think the problem lies within Sprint more than it does with HTC. I'd be willing to bet that right before release, every single one of HTC's phones is in top notch ready-to-go condition. Sprint gets a hold of their products, cuts away what they feel is "unnecessary fat"...and the problem begins. Then they probably give HTC a deadline to finish the changes by, so they don't have enough time to test it.

Re: will the touch pro be any better than the diamond? lots of diamond problems.
I agree that Sprint and HTC are both to blame on some matters... there have been lots of issues that should have been caught early in the testing process.
On the other hand, some issues are clearly just end-user experience issues. Everyone uses their gadgets differently and has different expectations of what works, doesn't work, and what works but not to their satisfaction. That is exactly why sites like this exist and why I stick with Windows both on the desktop and phone-- to enjoy the customization to make my experience match what I want. Don't like the UI? No problem, load a shell. Missing a feature? No problem, load a plugin. Missing a program? No problem, just install it. Apple is getting better on the iPhone with the programs part, but still not so much with the plugins and interface experience. It's nice that I can load the iPhone UI on my Mogul... why can't I load the HTC TouchFlo or SPB Mobile Shell UI on an iPhone (for example)? I have never had problems with BT headsets on my Mogul, even on older ROM's, but others have, because we all have different expectations on volume and quality. That's just how it is. So what it really comes down to is this-- are you willing to spend the time and effort on a new device to get it to match your expectations, or are you truly looking for a good out-of-box experience at the risk that you may sacrifice some flexibility and customization? Just my $1.25...
