HTC Touch Pro Hands-on Videos

Courtesy of wmpoweruser.com (found it there originally) and theunwired.net

The first video is a hands-on overview for those who dont (yet) know what this thing looks like or how it functions. Its the German version of the qwerty so ignore the misplaced Y and Z. Videos are in English though. Enjoy!

http://www.theunwired.net/?item=vide...dware-hands-on

The second one is the hands-on GUI video, and how Touch-flo 3D acts when you open the keyboard.

I would buy this phone tomorrow if I could....
Sprint, late to the dance as usual.

Who knows when this will arrive.

This phone makes me want to smash my Mogul into tiny little bits.

lol, the video wont load for crap for me. only about 10 seconds in the buffers forever. obviously sprint is late as always, but they do seem to be getting it alot quicker than they usually do. its being released in september i believe the website said in the UK, so the USA getting it before the end of the year isnt really all that bad if you ask me.

Can't get the videos to load for nothing.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Hands-on Videos

Videos loaded fine for me. Wow HTC made is seem like the Touch Pro would have more interesting features added to Touchflo3D or something else up their sleeve with this comment they made before "Unfortunately, HTC refused to show off the Touch Pro's interface -- apparently on account of some new tricks up TouchFLO 3D's sleeve that haven't already made their way into the Touch Diamond".

SMH I don't see much of a difference but I'll be subjective since that was a Beta rom he was using. Also, Landscape is terrible I hope HTC really changes that, I like how on my Mogul HTC Home is the same for both landscape and portrait. The memory menu that said 200 MB if program memory made me smile and switching from portrait to landscape and back again was the fastest I've ever seen on a WM device.

Wow that really looks better than the standard diamond. It seems much faster. I did not see any bogging down like in the diamond vids on CNET. This is a must have for me. What I dont understand is what is the leveler for?

Re: HTC Touch Pro Hands-on Videos

It's to calibrate the Accelerometer, there will be apps (just like on the Diamond) that use the accelerometer a-la-iPhone. Game's where you tilt the phone and the object reacts ect.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Hands-on Videos

release date is set to november, and the diamond for october

Tiberius85 07-30-2008 06:38 PM

Re: HTC Touch Pro Hands-on Videos

I think it might be the other way around. The Diamond hit the FCC after the Touch Pro and with a confidentiality date set for November, the Touch Pro was October 20th IIRC.

When it comes to WM devices, sprint is never late to the dance.. they were the first US carrier to release the mogul, the touch, the 6700, and even the 6600... Verizon and Alltel were a full year behind on all of these devices except the touch/vogue... Qwest has been just about on par with sprint.

Just my 2 bits... We'll get the touch pro at least a year before verizon does, as usual...so what's to complain about?

Wasn't Qwest a Sprint MVNO, which is why there phone timing basically matched Sprint. Now that they switched to Verizon, Qwest should instead match timing with Verizon.

Here's another video I found:

http://gizmodo.com/5020340/htc-touch...snt-turn-it-on

No dialog, but it shows the phone size and different angles.

I wouldn't go that far because the 6.1 update helped a 'bit.

But I'm definitely upgrading once this is available to me.

its also For using the device in landscape mode.. you just rotate it to the side and it will automatically switch to landscape like the iphone... dont have to open the keyboard.. good for watching vids and such.

Me neither.. but i dont care. I'll pay full price for this phone if I have to.. im sick and tired of the obscene memory management on the Mogul and the slow as molasses interface.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Hands-on Videos

I haven't heard anyone comment on the phone's phone. The mogul is by far the worst PHONE that I've ever had. Without S2U2 it is is severely flawed. If the phone rings while in your pocket there is a 90% chance that it will either hang up or answer. The dialer? Worthless with it's small buttons that does not respond well to fingers. It will also call the last person millions of times. Without the custom dialers and programs, the mogul is laughable.

I hate to speak bad about my mogul but it's gotten to the point that I've stopped updating and bothering to try new things on it. I am using it and just patiently waiting for an upgrade with good memory and an interface that does not run like crap.

Yeah i know what you mean. Once I hung up with my boss, started swearing him out and the phone called him back somehow. Almost lost my job for that. After that i put S2U2 on it as a rule. From screenshots the phone has a nice dialer and most likely updated Caller ID pop-up. I've never had a problem with missed calls, or answering calls with my Mogul, and the quality of the calls has been pretty good, so I imagine it will continue with that.

Does anyone know if you can download active x controls on our TP2 phones in order to see dvr video on our device?
