I'm overjoyed actually about the releases over here. Diamond has a bigger battery and more ram. The touch pro has all the features except the front camera. The styling is kinda silly on the diamond, but I don't really care. I was afraid with the exchange rate we would be paying >$1000 for these devices (my friend in Australia recently bought a regular touch and paid >$1000 and the exchange rate is about 1:1). I just think Sprint did us right over here releasing it in a semi-timely fashion for the price that they did ;).

As for verizon, if their devices are really as crippled as the rumors peg them to be (and I doubt they really will be) then more power to your rant on them ;).

As for me on sprint, I'm counting my blessings and considering myself lucky I'm getting such a good device at such a good price.

We have that - sprint TV etc is available on many consumer handsets that are not smartphones. FYI japan also broadcasts over digital - analog is a waste of frequency spectrum, as you get higher quality on digital without using anywhere near the amount of frequency. Consider the difference between analog and digital cell phones.

Some phones in japan even have live video streaming to see whatever the other person looking at right there in time with no lag. Yes we have "apps" like that here but there built right in the phone. Just throwing that out there.

since the US is going digital with it's tv.... does that mean we might get TV capability on our phones other than sprint tv ?

FYI even the US 3g unlocked (not carrier branded at all) diamond has no front cam
