HTC Touch Pro Rom Help

i don't know if anyone would be able to answer this, but i wanted to try Merdin's Windows Mobile Pro 4.1 for HTC Touch Pro for Sprint, and all the links are dead, his website is gone, i read it is good and fast, why is everything gone?

is there anyways i could find it still?

thank you, i got myself a new HTC Touch Pro, but the stock rom would not even run games, even my palm pro (850) runs games

My old roms played games.
My old server is down.
Check my old threads and if anything looks good, myself or someone can try to reupload one for you.

Well, I will have to upload it somewhere. :)
I made them all to default to Sprint but has settings for most all networks.
They all have working sms, mms and everything else working. Battery tweaks in there also.
All include Office as well.

Will try to upload to my Dropbox but will take a while.
You can also search that thread and see if my kitchen link is somehow still active.
With that you could create any Rom I had plus customize it however you wanted.
I included all files to click to cook. :)

rootlinux 10-13-2012 11:39 PM

Attempting to upload to Dropbox.
Doing so via handset so give it a bit and will will post links.
Didn't know which one you wanted.
Have all my stuff scattered every where.
Uploading my last RootRom, NinjaRom and Titanium Rom.
Can always upload the kitchen if you want anything else.

Link 1 is up.
RootRom
http://db.tt/QSVZYMRU
Extract both files to the same directory on your pc.
Flash tool is included.

Link 2
NinjeRom
http://db.tt/CXMKgxve
This may be faster.

Link 3
Titanium Rom
http://db.tt/r6F939WW
Probably fastest but it doesn't have HTC Sense. It is Titanium only so it is lighter.
Still fully functional.

thanks, downloading now, download is going real slow, i was wondering, is there a way to disable the slider and make it exact like palm pro interface, i am so used to simple interfaces, i don't need no slider, just a windows drop down and i could select what ever i want to and a home screen?
was just wondering if there was a way to make it simple, like change the font to times new romen or tahoma, so it would be readable?, i will check out your roms and flash my HTC Touch Pro for sprint, and see how it goes.

is there a way i could back up the stock rom on my HTC Pro? or one's i would switch, i would not want to go back? and with your root rom, will i be able to activate my phone on sprint network? what about there "##" number thing they give to be able to edit the number and msid, would i be able to do that?

just trying to make sure i would still have a working phone after the flash, your answer would be much appriciated, and your rom is stable right?

If you are already activated it should stay activated.
All ##codes should work fine.
You can use Titanium if you want simple with no slider.
Also I can't remember if I added font changer or not.
If not there are apps that will do it easily. Should be able backup your current rom.

hey, i ran the Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.zip and it completed, that mean my phone is ready for your rootrom?
i am having trouble finding a way to back up my current stock rom, just want to have that for later, if i don't like something, is there a way i could back it up, and do all HTC Touch Pro from sprint have same exact stock rom?

i am so about to update to rootrom, since it is the only one i found so far, wanted to find a few others, but they are very difficult to find, thank you.

rootlinux 10-15-2012 11:36 PM

Will try and upload a Sprint stock rom for you in case you want to go back.
Doubt you will. ;)

If you ran hard spl then you should be good to flash.

i tryed your root rom and your titanium rom, don't like either of them, a bit too confusing, i am so used to drop down menues like in windows xp, where there is a start menu and i could put what programs i use alot instead of going into programs and finding them over and over, very anoying. but your rom works.

i just like the windows mobile 5 look better, and is there anyways i could get a better radio installed, i can't seem to get more then a bar of signal with your rom? i wish i could try that one original rom i been looking for. thanks for the help, i like it better when i have to click less type of thing, and simple interface.

RootRom has an apps menu to add all your favorite apps.
Also NinjaRom has an app dropdown.
All the information is in my roms thread.
Sorry you didn't like them.
They will do everything you asked for.

As for radios, not sure what is the latest on that device.
Can look into it.
Did you take any ota updates before flashing?

no one told me about ota updates, how come no other roms is available for download anywhere, i spend hours and days searching, and nothing at all?
if i could figure out how to get a start menu like in windows mobile 5, or 6.1, i might actually use it,

Unfortunately, you are working on a legacy device. As phones get older, support for them falls off and links go dead. It is a sad reality.

Does your device look like this? If so, you are good to go.

My roms have start menus as well.
Look through some of the threads.
NRG is a good dev but let me say this.
I learned how to make my roms after making probably a few thousand posts in his threads.
I learned how to mod and tweak by fixing bugs and issues I had on his roms.
I made my roms because I didn't like the bugs on other roms.
So if you are looking for a 100% working rom for your Touch Pro with little to no bugs then you should give mine a few days to test.
Not bashing NRG at all but at the same time I learned by fixing his. :)
Read through my threads and you will see what I mean.
Users were very involved and every bug that was posted was fixed.
There is nothing on my roms that doesn't work.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Rom Help

i have tryed several roms, and they would not boot, i guess i am stuck with your rom, it plays games and makes phone calls, i wish there was a way to add programs i used alot to the slider for the rootrom, if anyone finds a rom i could try for htc touch pro from sprint, i would be happy to try it, maybe there is a way to set up the rootrom to work how i like, oh i noticed when i install a program, like a registry editor, it vanishes, i can't find it, i have to edit the sms registry or i get messed up dates on the sms, and it gets annoying fast.

is there a way to make office load faster, instead of waiting over 5 seconds every time i open mobile word?

thanks for the rom, my device works, for now i have no choice

rootlinux 10-19-2012 03:04 PM

My roms usually have registry editors built in.
If you read through my thread it will tell you everything you need to know.
Also most have shortcut menus built in.
The thread will tell you everything you need to know.
Start at the last page and go forward.
NinjaRom has an app shortcut menu for sure.
I will try to go back through my files and see what all settings and apps I put in the last roms.
Been a while. :)
Could even try to cook you up a new one but I don't have that device anymore to test with.

If you go to my roms thread and scroll down the first post.
You will see an attachment called Max Manila 2.5 v3.
Download and install that.
It will add many extra features like app shortcuts and extra clocks.

you could cook a rom for me, that would be nice, could you put office from windows mobile 5 in it and it to be a stock rom, with the start drop down?

tryed the max mania, it is not compatible with your rom, it constantly tryes to load, then restarts the load, then tryes to load again, no not the device, just the HTC sence thing, then it just quits after like 5 retryes, unless i got the wrong one, i got it off your thread with your rootrom on it, maybe you could link me to the correct one

rootlinux 10-21-2012 05:55 PM

I have Max on some of my other roms.
Will see what I can do.
